Bingo.
BYD is focusing R&D on affordability. This is a winning strategy for mass sales not just in China but in many other countries.
It is why BYD is going to take the crown and keep going from there.
It will be interesting to see what the rumored Tesla Model 2 is like in regards to quality and price.
It seems automakers are finally realizing that affordability is key now if you want mass sales and world wide presence.
The Nissan Ariya looks great and in the small basic affordable car space they did that collaboration with Mitsubishi for the Nissan Sakura.
Having a great looking aesthetic and a super affordable base model car is a good strategy in these times of high interest rates and EV models that are just too damn expensive.
Lol that they still do this year after year is what amazes me.
That is a really good point and maybe how they pivot I agree.
Other part of this is that as we get a bigger and better charging infrastructure we don’t need to worry about always expanding range.
It’ll of course happen naturally.
But this can lead the way for smaller more affordable vehicles :)
Double compounding win.
Lucid needs to get a flagship affordable model lol
Seems everyone that gets an IONIQ 5 or 6 loves it.
The more affordable basic small cars the better.
Only thing even better would be modernizing and really investing in great, safe, effective, and affordable public transportation…
I hate to be negative but I am waiting to see if all these amazing affordable ev models actually come out and what the price is when they do.
It would be a damn pleasant surprise to see them actually come out and at the prices they say early on.
Well said
Yah some locations are not bad at all.
Plugshare as others are mentioning also is radically good for knowing the details of various locations.
I think the reality was that in some locations it was really bad in the beginning because it almost seemed that the charging infrastructure outside of Tesla was done as a type of punishment for them.
Now with everyone realizing that it is the future the difference in intentionality definitely seems to be showing in the reality of the stations/networks.
Yep, once you know what to look for in regards to lobbying, propaganda, and frankly straight out corporate boardroom bullshit you can spot stuff pretty easily.
Well said. This is the reality I think.
The dealership model itself has a lot of modernizing and updates in general that need to happen…
Lol it is pretty brutal in a lot of ways.
