  • I don’t have much hope but I will still watch. The Jets have to load the box to stop the Falcons run game but on paper this looks like a bad match up for the Jets.

The only hope is if Becton is good to go and Warren can play. The Jets have to stick to the run game the best they can.

Really feels like it will be another low scoring game for the Jets offense. I would love to see them get a lead somehow and let the defense really unleash themselves. The defense needs a game like that were they can get after an opposing offense and have some fun. They deserve that.

  • Not just reading defenses, but accuracy when throwing the ball. I will take Chad Pennington’s noodle but accurate arm over a guy like Zach every day. Chad hit guys in stride and the really good QB’s read a defense and hit their receivers in stride. If you hit a guy like Garrett Wilson in stride the YAC is going to be insane.

That is the killer about Zach. He really struggles reading the defense and he does not throw an accurate ball at all. The amazing thing is he is still super young. Could he take a couple of more years and just concentrate on footwork and accuracy and become a serviceable QB with insane arm talent? I hope so but right now he cannot be on the field because he doesn’t have the it factor that makes the team around him better and that is what a QB needs to be.

  • Nice breakdown. All of these give good insights but one thing that is lacking is that we have no idea what the audibles are. It would really be something to actually take these and have a sit down with Hackett so we get the real insight with what was going on.

Honestly it from our perspective its really looks like poor play-calling, poor QB play and poor O-line play all matched up to one big stinking pile of offensive poo. Right now that is all we got. I’m going to bet that having a good QB will have a huge impact that outweighs the playcalling and poor O-line. But that will have to wait until next year.

  • Seeing these numbers, there seems to be some possible conclusions here:

    1. It is better for Zach to make some quick decisions. But can he? He often seems hesitant.

    2. Zach often holds onto the ball too long which often turns into sacks.

    3. I wonder if the reason our receivers don’t get open as often because the route concepts might be simplified for Zach. Maybe short complex route concepts require snap decision making and I think Zach just doesn’t process these quick enough to make the right read a majority of the time.
