  • My post wasn’t meant to prove your point being wrong, but more to amend it being purely player related, but more a balanced with org and other players. It’s not a pure individual drop off, even though he didn’t look much better at FNC after that (probably a bit for the same reason).

The coach of TSM of that time even defended YellowStar on the famous DL clip and said that he was totally lost and burnt out quickly because he arrived in a team that had an abysmal level of communication, which he was not used to. Literally nobody talked besides him, so he tried to do the extra part and do it all by himself, which even worsen his mechanics which have never been his strong point anyway. He was desperately willing to put a lot of effort in guiding a team that didn’t want to be guided.

TSM 2016/2017 was kinda like FNC 2018/2020, a team that had strong individuals but failed to really be a team, despite their success.

  • Ah yeah the famous clip where Doublelift questions the game knowledge of a player that had 10 times his success at the time.

TSM YellowStar didn’t work because he was not a laner (and DL wanted a laner), and nobody in the team trusted him and his calls. He was clearly burnt out, it’s true (and he said it at the end of 2016), but even Bjergsen said they just didn’t agree with how they wanted to play the game, so Yellow just ended up being a walking ward.

This signing could not work between a roaming support who liked to play fast-paced league, and a mid/AD duo which won a lot on local scene, but with very slow-paced game very lane-focused.

  • There is no statistic argument against Novak. Tbf he has even drastically improved his weak point which was the net game which was mediocre at best for 90% of his career. I’ve seen him doing things at the net over the course of the last 2 years I had never seen in his game.

But personally I still feel that RF is the greatest player I’ve ever seen. That’s all. There isn’t any argument for it. I’m not talking about achievements, but just raw feeling and tennis skills assessment. On one day, at peak level, I’d pick RF over Djokovic any day, especially on decently fast paced courts where he was way tougher to beat.

I totally admit that this goes against all statistics and logic. I won’t argue RF is the GOAT. But he is my GPOAT.

  • Not even in top players list before the tournament when he obviously brings a lot besides his mechanics, his team looked totally lost without him.

And then, not only he could have played mechanically average while still bringing a lot like end of summer, but he is actually totally smurfing the tournament, playing top notch midlaners and looking as sharp as ever, and exceptionally clutch.

I really really wish he can win it all, he deserves it so much. At this point I think everybody want to watch one more title.
