Maxey seems like a lock with great production on a great team.
Paolo and/or Franz could do it if Orlando keeps up their winning ways.
Scottie has been looking real good but he might need a bit more success from his team overall to get the nod
Chet is looking great and his team is winning so I think it is likely
Brunson is undoubtedly one of the best guards but NYK is suspect in my book this season. They’re winning right now though.
Mikal is great as well, but Brooklyn ain’t looking too good right now
Sengun has been really impressive and I think he could get the nod if his team stays competitive.
Paolo is the most valuable player on one of the most successful teams. He is in the conversation, as evidenced by us having a conversation about it.
An arbitrary “top ten” might matter to you, but it isn’t stopping the conversation from happening.

Paolo for MVP
Numbers will never be looking like Durant’s so long as this is a defensive-minded team. The numbers are irrelevant when evaluating *value* on an elite-defensive team. Box scores ain’t gonna tell the story. =)
Without Paolo, this team is lottery-bound. The value he brings to this squad and the impact he has on winning is why he deserves to be in the conversation.
It is “most valuable player”…not “best player” like you implied… The guys who have the most *value* are the ones who *impact winning* the most. That’s definitely been Paolo this season, considering he’s been clutch down the stretch and won a couple games on last minute shots as well.
And particularly for a guy who leads the best *defensive* team in basketball, you aren’t going to see huge numbers pop out on the box score night after night. Regardless of Paolo’s averages, he is the best player on the best team as it currently stands (There are only two teams in the league with a better record right now, and the Magic are on the longest win streak among the top teams).
Yes I’m hyped, and no I don’t think the basketball world will give him the props he deserves, but I’ve been watching this league long enough to recognize when credit is due. =)

gonna be interesting to see if Jokic can keep up with Goga tonight. Jokic has been looking good the past few years so we shouldn’t underestimate him. Goga might have his hands full, but Goga is the best center in league history so I’m not too concerned.

DO’T CHANGE ANYTHING.
See how this squad does in the playoffs. Then make adjustments next year. If anything, use this year to continue acquiring assets and then snag the next best disgruntled all-star if they become available after this season.
Realistically, there aren’t any moves that will make this team a true championship contender this year…I say roll with the success we have, keep the team together for continuity and chemistry. Reevaluate in the off-season.
