Suns shooting 78% from the field/ Blazers 36% in the 1st quarter.
Horrible on both ends of the floor. So discouraging.

It’s a long way to the draft, but do any of the top guys stand out as being actually ready to step in and make an impact?
I must be getting old, but I miss the days when there were players available who were NBA ready.
I don’t think there is any question Dame helps them spread the defense. This is the one area where Dame is much better than JRue was.
No wonder this guy took so long to develop his game - he can’t even figure out how a condom works!
What can I say - I just feel as if it didn’t need to get to this point.
I hope your optimism proves correct.
That seems like an unfair question. It is unavoidable, it must be endured, but nothing about the current situation is OK.
It is silly to project his entire career based on a dozen games. It was equally silly to talk about him as a top 3 candidate for ROY. To be honest, I got caught up in the irrational enthusiasm phase as well. It’s time for all of us to get past it.
What we really needed was another Dame or Brandon Roy. No such player was available, so we put our money on an unscratched lotto ticket. Was that better than trading the pick for a vet who wouldn’t have moved the needle? I would argue it was. Did we gamble on the right lotto ticket? I have no idea and neither does anybody else.
Rant over.
Weak defense and sloppy turnovers. This is not teaching a team to “play the right way.”
Simple thought exercise: does a coach impact the teams’ on-court performance?
If the answer is “no”, why does the team invest millions of dollars in him?
If the answer is “yes”, why is he immune from criticism when the team plays poorly?
I feel sorry for the guy - but that doesn’t mean I want the Blazers to waste a roster spot on him.
So far in his brief career Henderson has been depressingly fragile. At this point there is still a chance he could pan out. He is a high risk, but still a potential high reward. With Zion, that ship has already sailed. He is nothing more than Greg Oden 2.0.
If this was his first injury, that would be one thing. Given that this is a reccuring problem, I think it safe to write him off as ever being an asset to the team.
I feel sorry for the guy, but the blunt truth is that we got hosed by the Celtics in this deal. Jrue is a very valuable player, whereas Williams is dead weight and we would be lucky to flip Brogdan for a couple of 2nd round picks. It is absurd to think this was the best deal on the table for a player as valuable as Jrue.
It’s too early to make declarations about Henderson. Ayton is a vet - he is what he is.
Give lot’s of touches and he will score for you. As a SG he is an OK playmaker, but trying to make him a fulltime PG would be a mistake. As for defense - close your eyes and pray till it is over.
His future value to the team is contingent on how fast and how well Sharpe progresses. In the short run, I doubt the team would move him without a very serious offer.
