  • McDermott is probably not getting re-signed. They’ll probably try and flip Graham as an expiring contract; same might go for Jones if they don’t see him as part of the long term plan. Mamu doesn’t get re-signed. So there seems to be some amount of openings

Maybe the Spurs pull something like they did with George Hill and try getting a team to bite on a trade where the best talent that is available at their pick might be redundant. E.g., If some team that might be in the lottery like the Blazers, Hornets, Grizzlies, etc. happen to no longer have who they wanted available to them, and the next best players are guards, maybe the Spurs can lure them with a wing and a pick swap

The Spurs typically don’t trade picks. So the only thing I can really think of, if possibly trading an upcoming pick, for a future pick down the line. Sam Presti is doing something very similar so they are also set for the future

  • I think when that gets brought up regarding Chet’s supporting cast and the ROTY race, it’s usually to undermine how well he’s been playing which might be why you’re getting downvoted for it. We can speculate how well Wemby would be doing if he had a similar supporting cast, but the reality right now is that Chet has been playing really well with what he’s got, and with the opportunities he’s been given.

I do kinda dislike how it’s become a tear someone down to prop someone else up mentality. I think they’re both fun to watch and I look forward to hopefully what is the next greatest Big Man rivalry in this new era

  • Hmmm, not sure. If those jeers were that loud and plentiful, I could understand being intolerant of it. Thinking back, I really don’t doubt some folks may have been acting a fool. I remember his first game back when he came with the Raptors, people were harassing his Mom in the stands. It was definitely not a good look. I think there’s a video of it on the Web too

  • We may never know, but I had a buddy that was sitting by the Spurs bench that said some folks were shouting obscenities. Seems odd because typically, they’re pretty strict about that during bball games and will kick people out if there are complaints; must’ve been a lot of people doing it. Lots of families with their kids in attendance, so there usually isn’t a whole lot of tolerance for that kind of behavior
