1·11 months ago25 yeas ago, BMW made great cars that had exhilarating linear power and a real driver connection to the road. And backed it up with superior German engineering and a feeling of luxury.
With each new car evolution and decade you get glimpses of it, but those days are gone IMO. But I still reflect fondly on the brand because of this heritage and hopeful that BMW gets their mojo back.
I had a couple of i8s. They were interesting and fun. The M2 factory race cars are fantastic platforms. It will take something really special to get me back, but I remain hopeful with a watchful eye.
The M2 factory race cars are getting VERY high marks from competitive drivers.
