Just went and test drove one, still not a huge fan of the blocky front. Just wondering if I’ll get over it, I’ve been saving for one and can almost justify the purchase.

My biggest takeaway from it is how exposed the front radiator is… is there a way to protect this from rocks? Seems like an expensive trip on the road if one hits it at speed.

The M2 factory race cars are getting VERY high marks from competitive drivers.

the G8x series hasn’t grown on me at all. i traded out my f80 for an f87c and didn’t feel the g80 or 87 were worth having a car payment. I think the g87 has potential with a redesign of bumpers and tail lights, but i doubt bmw changes them for CS. plus theres the weight issue.

but to your question i think a company does make a mesh grill for that area .

Yeah I am gonna have to say no. I was on a build list for the new M2 before it was unveiled. As soon as I saw the car with no wrap, I was legit sad! I saved up for a long time to get it. So I ended up calling the dealer and canceling my build slot.

I just picked mine up last night and I love it.

The amount of hate the car gets from F series owners is pretty high, from just about everyone else you will get a different reaction.

Personally I don’t love the front of the G87 as much as the front of the G42 or the F87, but the profile, hips, interior and ride quality are so much higher. Add some aftermarket touches to the car (front splitter, spoiler, color matched lower front vent) and it looks fantastic.

I test drove an og F87 and immediately knew it was too stiff and bouncy for local roads. The G87 is much different - possibly because of the weight in addition to adaptive dampers - while you can feel the road through the chassis it is much less harsh.

Also, there are multiple radiator protectors available.

Hooked me the moment I approached. Hadn’t even begun the walk around.

And yes. That front intake is desperate for something between the radiator and the open road
