Maybe a Weiss manual wind? I’d prefer a date but it was the first thing that came to my head

Most tank watches come on a leather strap but they have square lug profiles, so if you find a watch you like it’s easy to buy pretty much any straight-endlink bracelet that you like
Momentum Atlas 32mm is worth a look. Not a black case, but the grey solid titanium is pretty sharp. It’s $185 instead of $240.
Not sure what color shirt you’re wearing but a white or silver dial with a blue suit will likely work just fine with any color shirt - but especially a white shirt.
Also, this may interest you…
Not very often, but I’ve seen pre-owned Nomos Tetra sell for $1000
With all due respect, this is way too vague. Can you give us any more context? Even basics like preferred dial color, do you want a leather strap or metal bracelet, do you like chronographs, divers, or dress watches, etc. Your question is almost like asking “I have $1000 and want to buy some clothes, what should I get?” We need a little more info in order to be useful for you
JLC needs to be in the same tier as Patek and Lange, I don’t care what anybody says
Enjoyability is independent of price. Finishing, heritage, tolerances, complications - these are related to price. But when it comes down to “Do I like this watch and will I wear it?” - that’s unrelated to price.
My $200 quartz microbrand watch is more interesting than your Aqua Terra
Seiko 7002-7001 is affordable, high-quality, and was produced in 1994
Thinking about it with both the Khaki field and the Hemel air wing. Manual winds are my favorite watches, I still don’t know why I sold the two that I wore the most.
Mismatched isn’t usually my thing but lowkey I’d put a red lace in the blue and a blue lace in the red, at least to see how it looks
How little. We talking 1 or 2mm? You can just get a longer buckle if that’s all it is
It’s got an hour hand, a minute hand, and even a seconds hand. It’s a watch. It just requires slightly more focus to tell the time if you’re not used to a dial without indices.
I’m in the minority that doesn’t mind truncated elements on a dial. What I do mind is functions actually interfering with each other, like that date pointer covering up the moonphase indicator because someone thought they should use the same subdial
Timex makes a 26mm field watch and it comes in a few colors. The slightly older ones (up until a couple years ago I think) even had a date window.
Also the Hamilton Khaki was originally 32mm before they released the new 38 and 42 versions. Older ones aren’t too hard to find and you can choose mechanical or quartz.
Shout out to u/f0sterchild15 for giving me a killer deal on this Momentum Atlas. Best $100 I’ve ever spent on a watch. The full titanium case, 100m WR with screw down crown, and fully lumed dial make it the perfect affordable beater. The glossy handset, slightly raised numerals/indices, and signed knurled crown are nice details. It’s nothing magnificent, but it’s excellent for what it is 👍🏼
Ouch. That hurts all around
Just to be clear, do you mean truly square or is rectangular also allowed?
