Could you do something like appleca.com? I’ve seen a few websites where companies have a shortened version of their location in their domain name. Appleca or maybe applecity or appleprovince. Or even the other way cityapple.com?

I like this infographic and it might be helpful for your girlfriend. She has some of this stuff already, but I think a good headline and value proposition will be helpful. Something about why we should buy candles from her, specifically. Also if she can get any reviews from whoever she has sold to, even friends and family, she can put those somewhere to show some selling history and happy customers. https://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/31097/12-critical-elements-every-homepage-must-have-infographic.aspx
I signed up for the Business Silver checking at US Bank. I’ve had my personal accounts with US Bank for years and never had any issues and since there are no fees with the Silver account and just a $100 initial deposit, it was a given for me. Also I want to be able to visit a physical location if necessary and I have branches in my area so that was another reason.
I’m curious how this would work regarding the machines I see used at boba shops. From what I know, the boba pearls have to be made, would you do that at the pop up? Would you also have that machine that puts the plastic lid on the cups? How quickly could make a drink for someone? I would assume you’d have to be pretty quick, I don’t think pop up markets are really a place people can be waiting around for a drink, especially if you gather a line.
That said, I’d love to come across a boba cart at a farmers market type of place! I do love boba.
This would be interesting to me but I’m curious of the cost to me. And if I could see somehow if it’s actually leading to sales so I know if it’s worth the cost.
This is an interesting idea that I didn’t consider. Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you but hopefully someone does, because now I’m interested as well.
This is a great idea! I’ve started looking into pop up market events where people sell jewelry, candles, clothes, etc because that’s my market, and I’ve seen at a lot of these events they also have small food trucks or coffee/smoothie trucks. That might be a good route for you too because while you would still need your city’s licensing to operate, it might be easier to actually set up shop because you’d be part of the private event. Rather than just going around asking if you can set up somewhere and potentially getting rejected.
You’re gonna have to go around and get quotes. Find a couple local places and find a couple online places. I don’t think Reddit can really do much. If I told you local had better prices what would be your next step?
I went to a full-time Christmas store in Banff, Alberta, Canada this past July. It was lovely.
I agree. I think it will save you time, money, and space. Organization will definitely help you here, if you’re looking for supplies in the ONLY spot they should be, you won’t have an excess in a ton of random spots.
Check out Faire. They have yarn wholesalers there.
Do you know how easy it is claim something like that on google? And that’s not rhetorical, it’s genuine. Because I’m wondering is it possible Emma Jack was just looking at your business profile and accidentally clicked a button, or maybe it’s a kid messing around? I really have no idea - I’m just wondering how many steps did this person take for that email to be sent to you?
I mean this in the nicest way possible, but lots of people in this subreddit have had to save their personal money for a long time to be able to finally start their business…can’t you do that too? Save your money until you’ve hit the goal you need to get started. Is there a reason you have to start right now?
There are lots of resources! Your state’s SBA, books, online resources. Start by googling. Also look into business plan templates, they will help you think about the things you need to plan for.
I just came across this company in another comment actually, it’s called Paper and Spark, they have a lot of information about selling on Etsy, that might help you!
When you say send their products to, do you mean you’re having it shipped to you? Can you just put in a family member’s address or another friend that your friend doesn’t know?
