  • value for money depends on what you value. the 3 series is larger, gets more options, different build process, more sound deadening. The 3 series gets more light weight stuff in the chassis as well, the 330i weighs like only 120 pounds more than the 230i.

im not sure if its still a thing but the 3 series offers individual color options. at least on the M3. This was never available on the 2 series

  • i agree its a bit of a gimmick. ‘oh this car is 5 seconds faster on a 7 minute lap!!’ Like dude thats 5 seconds out of 420 seconds of driving. literally a 1% improvement.

0-60 is also not as important as 5-60. theres a good article on it and shows how many cars achieve a great 0-60 due to launch control, awd, and turbos… but fall flat on the 5-60. most of this is because newer cars have downsized engines with big turbos , they lack low end instant power that a big motor would give

Its the same car, kind of like M3 vs M4. Just get what you think looks better. M5 will probably hold value better and easier to sell since it has usable back seats.

Not sure where M5 prices are but the 2020 M8 has lost like 50% of its value.

i’d avoid the challenge cars since you dont have much track experience. you really have to throw your gut feeling out the window and trust the cars cornering ability which can be un nerving. the 600LT has a ton of straight line pull and will probably give you the most enjoyment. and you dont have to deal with mclaren depreciation or reliability, a big reason why people pick porsche over them

  • you’re fine. maybe dont flash the brights because there are idiots with guns out there. if i pass on the fight i will abruptly get back over the left lane (once its safe) to try and send them a message of “hey left lane is for passing buddy, doesn’t matter if you’re doing 80, move over”
