Even if they called it perfectly, teams rotate who fouls so they can stop 3-5 dangerous counters for free each game without having anyone sent off. That’s pretty unbalanced.

Tactical fouls have had a huge negative effect on the product on the field. This rule makes them worse to commit so hopefully it limits them.
You’d think the team would have training about checking ids
Your caption says more about you than the watches do.
True, but often people market and discuss them as if they are meant to be tools. A lot of people care a lot about specs and performance and certification in regards to precision, water resistance, etc
100%. If you actually care about performance and specs, get a G shock. Mechanical watches are inherently impractical so there’s no point in evaluating them on practicality.
two dive watches because one was METAS certified whilst the other was only COSC certified - literally for 99.999% of people this won’t make a difference.
Exactly, and for the 0.0001% of people for whom it actually does matter, they’d be better off getting a G shock or something because it’ll be more durable, keep better time, more readable in the dark, longer lasting battery, etc. No point in talking about practicality for something that’s inherently impractical.
I’m not complaining, I just think it’s a little silly to talk about the practicality of watches that are inherently inpractical. The labeling isn’t what I’m talking about. It’s about how some people talk about the watches. Liking submariners or speedmasters or something because one appreciates their beauty, craftsmanship, history, etc is one thing, but talking up their performance specs is another. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about
The Longines Spirit Zulu Time is outfitted with the calibre L844.4 movement. It is chronometer certified for the highest level of accuracy and employs an anti-magnetic, silicon balance spring. Its “jumping hour” GMT hand can track a second time zone, and in conjunction with its bidirectional, 24-hour ceramic bezel, it can also track a third. The special beat rate of 3.5 Hz extends the power reserve to a full 72-hours. The watch comes with a screw down crown, 100m of water resistance, and is treated with Super-LumiNova for nighttime legibility
A G Shock will do every one of those functionalities singfiicantly better so it’s just funny to me to have that be the sort of sales pitch.
Mechanical tool watches are an oxymoron. A G shock will outperform any 25k watch.
Wow, that’s pretty insane. 0.2% chance for it to specifically happen this season with the Jags. Although if you look at the possibility for that to happen to any team ever, it’s much higher.
Of course not. My question is, how much did drafting a QB early really help the current situation?
If we drafted a WR in 2020 instead, and waited until now to draft a QB, would we be much worse off? Love is basically a rookie still and we’ve burned 3 years of his contract. We haven’t seen much of a payoff of having him sit.
It’s not that, it’s more that we haven’t really seen the pros that drafting a QB early and having them sit for 3 years was supposed to have. If those 3 years were supposed to make him look super polished, it hasn’t shown yet.
The idea was that drafting a QB earlier would help jump start the timeline, but there hasn’t really been much evidence of that. If we had drafted a QB last off-season, would we really be that much behind where we are now?
The first is a volume stat and the second is a per shot stat. Maybe post shot xG per shot would be better instead of save %.
I just thought it was unfair to say they were making up shit.
Agree to disagree. I don’t think the headline drastically changes the sentiment of that sentence. Ramsdale is hurting, which is natural and not a big deal.
Agree to disagree. That hypothetical clause in the passage is about Raya being down:
And for whatever reason, there might be a day where he’s down and even though I’m suffering and hurting for not playing, I have to stand up and be able to push him.
I read that as the same as saying
even though I’m suffering and hurting for not playing, there might be a day where he’s down for whatever reason and I have to stand up and be able to push him.
So, I don’t think the headline really warps the passage significantly.
a provocative “I don’t like this get me out of here now” sense.
I don’t think the headline implies that.
In any case, it’s certainly much too harsh to say they’re “making shit up”
Off the pitch he’s great, but on the pitch I think Raya helps the mentality of the team more. Ramsdale gets a little nervy under pressure and resorts to kicking it long. Raya, despite mistakes, sticks to the same approach and it helps the team a lot.
What do you mean? He literally said the stuff in the headline. They get along well, but he’s still suffering.
The problem with innocent until proven guilty is that in practice you’re letting off most perpetrators scot free. How can someone possibly prove something was not consensual? Recordings maybe, but that’s only possible if they know it’ll happen beforehand. There’s no easy answer that doesn’t lead to some very bad outcomes.
