Tbh HDR on a small portable screen sounds like an overkill and battery killer, and the Steam Deck’s battery life wasn’t great to begin with.

From what I can see, Google gives you a pretty exhaustive list. So, I’ll just go over my personal favorites:

• Sid Meier’s Pirates (the 2004 remake): accessible, charming, and so. damn. addictive

• Sea of Thieves: the best multiplayer pirate-themed game I know of

• Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag: hasn’t aged as well as Reddit might make you believe, but still a must-play

  • if you like this one, I also highly recommend the Freedom Cry expansion and AC: Rogue

• Risen 2 and 3: from the makers of Gothic, clunky but incredibly immersive

• Sea Dogs: a cult classic, but that also means it’s old af and some of its aspects simply haven’t aged well, so only for the most hc pirates nowadays
