Instant and effortless camera usage
You have this as a pro but it’s my main con. iPhone photos are now overprocessed for my taste.
However I am unwilling at this moment to give up the effortless integration with my Apple Watch, Mac, iPad, etc.
If I didn’t have those things, I’d heavily consider and Android
taxis-asocialBto Apple@hardware.watch•How would the iPhone have evolved if Steve Jobs hadn't died?English1·1 year agoYeah idk what their answer is supposed to mean. Since the X we have had Xs, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15
This is only true if you have an iPhone 12 or earlier. Do you? 13 onwards removed smart HDR toggle
The picture quality is insanely better.
some of that is the sensor and some of that is the sharpening and de-noising algorithms as well as smart HDR. honestly most people like this but I am really disappointed that apple doesn’t let us turn it off.
I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference.
This would be a benefit and I would be happy if I believed you. Unfortunately I don’t. Ever since the 12 they’ve ABSURDLY ramped up the post-processing in the photos. There’s no way the 11 looks like the 15 Pro.
Take a photo with the subject against a bright background. I bet the 15 Pro “smart HDR” makes the subject look like a sticker on top of the photo.

Apparently there is now an auto-fill feature that is grouped with the predictive keyboard option. So, if I type “Backe” (german for cheek) but iOS thinks the most likely word I am writing is “backed” it will automatically add a “d” when I hit space.
Wait, I’m still on iOS 16 and my phone does that too? Sometimes if I type a word and hit space it will change it, so I have to go back and re-type the word and then tap the word itself in quotes on the leftmost side of the predicted list of words

Just privacy shit in general

The Max chips are aimed at people doing super GPU and CPU intensive work so naturally that user is going to be thinking “I wish this chip was faster” quite often

Talk about a fucking nanny state Jesus Christ. Imagine not being able to turn this off because some tea sipping lawmakers in an ivory tower decided they didn’t want us listening to loud music

As things stand now, iOS wholly and completely rejects any apps that aren’t signed by Apple.
In the future, it won’t. It becomes far easier for someone to get a malicious app on your phone.
taxis-asocialBto Apple@hardware.watch•Apple's head of security speaks out against iPhone app sideloading in new interviewEnglish1·2 years agoNo, granny won’t accidentally install something,
Maybe not, but hackers can install apps that aren’t signed by Apple and now they’ll run
taxis-asocialBto Apple@hardware.watch•Apple's head of security speaks out against iPhone app sideloading in new interviewEnglish1·2 years agoYou’re missing the actual problem, though. Right now the OS is written in such a way that it rejects running any apps not signed by Apple, always.
In the future it won’t.
taxis-asocialBto Apple@hardware.watch•Apple's head of security speaks out against iPhone app sideloading in new interviewEnglish1·2 years agoExactly, and now 99.9% of us will have to deal with the decreased security just because those 0.1% couldn’t just go buy a fucking Android
taxis-asocialBto Apple@hardware.watch•Finally made my action button a little smarterEnglish1·2 years agoBruh why do people always say this shit. The median income of new BMW purchasers is $125,000. Credit isn’t easy to come by anymore anyways.
I know it’s Reddit’s fantasy that everyone who drives nice cars and has nice shit is just in massive debt but it’s by and large not true.
You have to be pretty well off to even get approved for a loan on a new BMW even if the car itself is a stretch for you
Is my phone broken, I cannot see Jack shit, just a black frame
Yes that’s just what Reddit needs, more terrible dad jokes and lame puns in a thread where someone’s asking an actual question lol

That depends on what you do. I can’t imagine that watched lasted that long while doing regular workouts
