Yes he hasn’t been playing well for a few games, but this is also a 6 or 7 game stretch at the very start of his career. He still has a lot to work on, but this shit I’m seeing on this sub about him is ridiculous. Why tf r u guys turning on our #1 draft pick when every NBA star has said on the record he has insane potential. And he cooked all of them over the summer. Social media is ruining basketball fr. He’s our guy which means u can’t switch up when it’s not going well.

    He’s been way more bad than good to start the year. It has to be better. I can admit that, but acting like 87 games into his career, coming off a year off of basketball that you can make a proclamation of what he will or won’t be considering the flashes we’ve seen is dog shit reactionary nonsense.

    Anything that’s suggested that may be contributing to him not playing well is waived off as an excuse instead of considered at all as context. For plenty of people here this roster is so dog shit that the GM should be fired today, yet Cade is expected to drag them to victory every night, play through the double teams & be conditioned enough to lead the league in minutes played despite coming off a year of no ball & according to Monty, playing through an illness.

    I wanted better this year, I’m disappointed, I have issues with Monty, but honestly the constant over the top negative takes are an embarrassment.

    Nobody should be hating on him, sure he turns the ball over too much. But, when you look at the group he spends the majority of his minutes with. None of those guys can spread the floor, shoot or get their own shot. It’s all on him. This is why Ivey needs to be in with the starting group. Someone else has to be able to break the defense down and get to the cup or kick it out. Nobody makes Cade’s job easier.

    I’m more of a Tigers fan and just check in here from time to time, but I just want to say this reminds me a lot of Tork. Bad first year, tons of bust talk, bad first half to the year, all but written off, and then second half of the year he finally breaks out and now all of a sudden we’re looking like a much better team.

    It gets better Pistons bros.

      We have to ask ourselves, why weren’t these Turnovers that predominant over the summer for the US Select Team?

      I think it’s two things:

      1. Teams are ACTIVELY scouting against Cade. He’s being doubled or trippled at the key every other possession. It’s part the Teams „fault“ for providing such abysmal spacing and partly on Cade just simply not being able to adapt to being double or triple Teamed. I know, these aren’t excuses, but cade being in his unofficial second season, playing the hardest Role in the NBA, I‘m not too worried.

      2. The spacing. As I said above, it’s partly because cade just keeps turning the ball over, so we can’t accurately predict how much of the double teaming is being done to stop cade from getting to his spots or just to get him to turn the ball over. But if you watch the game, even if he does pass the ball to e.g. Ausar/Stewart, these guys aren’t automatic shooters. They hesitate, pass, drive into traffic or whatever. All of this leads to continued double teams, because why wouldn’t they? We need a legit 2nd scoring option on this Team (bojan/ivey) and I hope Monty see‘s that as well. And if he doesn’t, shame on me because i‘m sure he knows the job better than me lol

    What else can you say? He’s been terrible. Back to 40%fg, sub 30% 3pt, 5 turnovers per game. Plus he gets cooked by just about any decent guard in the league. That’s horrible for anyone, even more so for someone who is supposed to be our star player.

    Of course I’m rooting for him to turn it around but at the moment you have to call it how it is.
