good defender. great rebounder. runs the floor well. butterfingers. can’t dribble. needs more touches in the post so he can work- could easily be a 20ppg+ scorer on 55% if he got the touches

Shaedon and Mays are cracking the code on how to pass to Ayton. Bounce pass up into his body for the easy catch.

Its the only way anyone should be allowed to pass to him in the flow of offense. Slow high arching passes otherwise. No straight line or leading passes until/if he improves.

I like it. We’ve only begun to figure out that if we pass to him he will likely score. He’s a legit 20 pt 10 rebound guy with decent defense.

    Ive really liked it.

He’s passionate which is overall a plus with some of our best guys Ant and Shaedon being cool types. Him and Scoot are hearts on their sleeve guys so Im hoping they really click on and off the court.

Saw him last game work hard to carve out space in the post and not get the ball in some cases, might get to a passionate person.

I’m pretty settled on getting his jersey this year.

Part of me wishes we had Stotts still because Stotts would force feed Ayton all the way to the last wafer.

Like him, not as high as prior to when we acquired and I was beating that drum loud. I think we need a backup big who is more of a bruiser/banger to compliment but I look forward to his growing chemistry with our backcourt.

Very happy with his attitude and overall presence on the team so far. I know there were worries for some people on if Ayton would play hard or if he was coming here expecting a large role. I think he deserves a bigger one that he has now and I am glad we got him 17 shots yesterday. But, I think Ayton has been a great teammate all year. He said during an interview that even if he doesn’t get the ball, he just hopes people knock down shots after he sets a screen because he knows he has gravity there.

I know people called him soft but I think he has been pulling down some contested boards that I have been impressed with too. I think he has been very solid and I have little complaints besides issues that I don’t think can be changed at this point like his bad hands and lack of physicality in the post.

He is still scoring efficiently, rebounding great, very active defensively with his hands, and hasn’t even played with our two main playmakers yet (Mays might be our best actually…). I think Simons is going to be HUGE for Aytons game.

What I was told by the Phoenix fans. No passion, doesn’t rebound, no effort.

Has pretty much been the opposite of that.

What I’ve noticed outside of that. Has one of the wettest jumpers I’ve seen from a big man. Good man to man defender, is an above average passer, has a decent hook shot.

The bad. Has bricks for hands when trying to catch ball. Fumbles the ball a lot if it’s anything but a lob, has loose handles when dribbling in the post.

I’m mostly happy with it, just hoping we can get ConcentrAyton who cleanly catches the ball when it’s passed to him.

I’m still calling it as “incomplete”, just due to the injuries. The guy now has to learn to work with Mays and Baby Boo Clyde.

That JG to DA high/low conversion last game was another example in game practice… That certainly wasn’t a 1-2-3 option that the team spent time on in camp. :)

20-25 games of Ant/JG/DA, playing about 20-24 MPG’s together, and we’ll see how the vets on the team (outside of Mookie Dew) “fit” together.

I honestly just appreciate his effort so much more than what we started to see from Nurk. Very excited to see how he’ll gel when everyone is healthy.
