Let’s say the Steelers continue to have a bad offense that only scores enough points to win and they look like an offense from the 80’s doing it. Let’s also say the defense continues to give up a crap ton of yards, but the splash plays continue to keep points off the board and low enough that the team still wins.

Should this team make the playoffs, it would prove they were good enough to get there. If they should win a game, it would prove that it can be done against a playoff team. If they win the whole thing, would you people saying “it isn’t sustainable” and “it can’t beat a top tier team” at least agree to stop your nagging? You can continue to believe what you want, but a lot of you are the type of “fan” who will never be happy with the result. Like those that complained about how Ben was terrible in Super Bowl XL and we shouldn’t have won, etc. Just shut up and take the W’s!

I’ve been saying this all year… don’t care if we ugly win all the way to #7.

Don’t care if Kenny isn’t “the guy” as long as they keep stacking W’s.

Yeah doesn’t make it exciting and entertaining football. Quite boring is you ask me. I’m glad they win and hope they improve enough to make the playoffs. But you gotta score consistently. Remember playoff teams will be putting up 30+ a game and right now we are not that close. Steelers have some work to do and really hope they grow into that potential we were hoping for in the summer

Beating the Browns would be huge. If they consistently beat top tier teams and go deep in the playoffs then it would be sustainable and I wouldn’t “complain” I would be thrilled. I would rather be wrong and the Steelers win a SB

I don’t consider it nagging. Is it possible we are looking at today’s NFL (which is clearly slanted to teams with franchise QBs and powerful passing attacks) and the make up of the teams that are consistently winning in the playoffs and pointing out that the Steelers don’t seem to be interested in playing that way?

Judging by the Steelers recent playoff history we are right.

I was optimistic about the playoffs 2 weeks ago. But the play of other AFC teams is concerning. Texans and Jags (they don’t play SF every week) could continue to win and both have wins over the Steelers for the wildcard. Those losses could be huge. The Bengals and even the Bills have looked bad but would anyone be surprised if they ripped off a few wins? Colts, in the mix and capable of winning any Sunday with JT running the ball better every week. So let’s get into the playoffs first- these upcoming division games are crucial.

I’ve accepted that the killer bs era was a fluke. I have accepted that Steelers football is ugly, run game and defense driven. And I’m fucking here for it. Let’s pickle those elves.

People keep “nagging” about the team because there’s a higher expectation for this team than just squeaking into playoffs and getting blown out in the wildcard round. Or just barely beating a corps of a team in the Packers. We never dominate teams. Last time they were a legit playoff contender who could make a playoff run was 2017 and even that ended in absolute embarrassment by the Jags. 3 playoff wins in however many years gets old quick. I’m getting tired of “the standard” being that we get our asses handed to us in round one of playoffs. And I doubt any real Steeler fans complained about Ben in SB40 and said we shouldn’t have won, that just sounds made up.

I will not apologize for ugly wins.

I will dread them and they will shave years from my life.

But I will not apologize for Steeler football.

One NFL QB comes to mind who fits the Pickett mold, Tim Tebow. How much stock do you put in to Tebow winning a division and a playoff game. No one other than the Broncos wanted him as a QB. What is the current trade value for Pickett? I don’t see him as a high value trade asset. He needs to improve in every aspect of the game. Even one hit wonder Super Bowl QB’s had that one exceptional year. Pickett’s numbers are not exceptional.

I don’t care how ugly it is. The way I’ve really come to see it, “Steelers football” isn’t usually pretty, it’s gritty and functional. Instead of playing with ballet-like finesse and athleticism, they lurch down the field like an old rusted-out machine (but it’s made of steel so it still gets the job done). Maybe this year we show all the naysayers that it can be done “our way,” all the way to the SB? It could go either way. Maybe it’ll be a disaster. I won’t make a full evaluation until the last game is played.

Our way, the Steeler way is all of a sudden not really being good at football? Being at the bottom of the league in offense and defense??? WTF are you people talking about? Do you even hear the bullshit you are spewing in these posts lol wtf

Personally I think the Steelers could be doing a great service to the NFL at large by getting away from the notion that you need a hall of fame QB to win a SB. if they can somehow win it all with Kenny, maybe it’ll give hope to the other 27 teams with shit at QB. I would much prefer complete teams winning than just elite QB’s and trash around them.

I’m never unhappy with a W. I will never want to intentionally tank or lose games. What I am sick of is being complacent with continuing to barely miss the playoffs or go one and done. We haven’t won a playoff game since 2016 and even then we weren’t close to the super bowl because the pats kicked the shit out of us in the AFC championship. TJ is 29 and has never won a playoff game. He’s only played in 3 (2 of which were home games). I’m not calling for tomlins head or anything, but I think it’s okay to be frustrated with being a top tier bad team or a bottom tier good team year in and year out

I like how you know what kind of “fans” people are without knowing jack shit about anyone. How do you know what I or anyone will be happy with? You dont so shut up with this nonsense. If the offense looked good and Kenny was consistently throwing TD passes and 200+ yard games no one would be saying shit but the fact is he has Mac Jones and Zack Wilson numbers, bottom of the league. Let me know when we beat a team like the Eagles, 49ers, Chiefs, Dolphins or anyone outside our division with a winning record instead of being completely embarrassed by them.

The comments are really weird. I see a lot of people saying the winning formula and the Steeler way is not being good at football. Being bottom of the league in offense and defense is now the Steeler way??? Tomlins plan? The winning formula for deep playoff runs?I have no idea what kind of drugs some of you are taking.
