With the demise of Theis (entschuldigung, I couldn’t resist) we have a roster slot. That may be a prelude to a bigger deal, possibly involving Buddy, it would explain why he’s not had his head in the game these last few games, but I think it is more likely that we don’t rock the boat and bring in a vet. Both Hill and Johnson were contributing in ‘leadership’, whatever that may mean, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw one of them come back to fill the ‘old head’ slot on this roster.

Who would you rather see return if it comes down to that?

It’s James Johnson easy for so many reasons. His size fits more of a need, his leadership with the young kids makes a huge difference and with the old vets is also still a solid addition. Even if we didn’t have a spot available I would bring him on board as a consultant… he is to the Pacers what Udonis Haslem is to the Heat

In your hypothetical, G Hill. He has expressed an interest in coming back to Indy and being involved in the franchise post retirement. He could help with our young guards, especially if there is some playoff experience to be had.

I love what Johnson did, but I think it is on Myles to be that guy now for the bigs. He’s been around for a long time, has some limited playoff experience and can guide them.
