This post came to mind after I played the new MW3 campaign. For me personally it has to be Wolfenstein: Youngblood. That game was a complete disappointment compared to the rest of the new Wolfenstein games. The only reason I ended up finishing the game was because my friend and I were playing it together and decided to tough it out and see the end of the story. Gears of War: Judgement is another dishonorable mention. A game that I did not like at all, but continued to finish it solely because I had played every other game in the series so far.

I don’t fully understand the question.

I’ve at least liked every game I’ve completed so it’s hard to point to “the worst” one.

I’m asking about a game that you started to dislike while playing it, but continued to finish the game because you wanted to see it through to the end. I would also say I’ve enjoyed 99% of the games I’ve played, so I was trying to think of games I’ve completed that were honestly just not good

Nioh 2. That shit overstayed it’s welcome. I was over the campaign at about 60% through

Personally, I loved that game and played all the way through to the final difficulty

Probably Heavy Nova for the Sega Genesis/Sega CD, and if you’ve never heard of Heavy Nova then Good. It’s a very terrible platformer-fighter hybrid with bizarre as hell decisions (crouching makes you invincible), terrible level design, and a default setting that makes you double tap backwards to turn around. Even if you turn the setting off your turn speed is molasses, it’s faster to jump (which ALSO makes you invisible).

If not that…Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, then?

BG3. I bought into the hype, and I deeply regret it. Utter garbage game with an even worse ending.

The least I can do is prevent other people from falling into the hype trap.

    The game is NOT good.

      why tho

ill be honest, i marked as “do not recommend” on steam, because even though ive had the time of my life with this game, it barely fucking runs on my machine for no reason other than the coding is horrible, and i can imagine how heartbroken a lot of people will be if they play it and encounter the same game destroying bugs i have, or can’t run it at all.

Pokemon Sword. I wouldn’t call it bad though. I 100%ed the Pokedex both in game and in the two DLCs. It took playing Scarlet for two hours to realise that I don’t like Pokemon.

OH SHIT it’s this one for me too, i have a lovehate relationship with it because there were moments i was genuinely invested and having fun, but i cannot remember a single battle in that game outside of the legendary dynamax raids in the dlc. what i do remember is the shallow joke for “towns” this game had. and the good drip for your characters, unfortunately removed in scarlet and violet in an act of barbarism.

scarlet and violet would be next, then. and legends arceus. you have some genuinely fun gameplay changes and story elements, wrapped in the literal most poorly coded game in nintendo history. like, it makes generation 1’s code look good.

Two Worlds. It was a tough experience. One of the most disappointing CRPG I’ve ever played. But I finished it anyway.

Gabriel Knight 3. Worse in every way to the previous two. Horrendous 3d engine, bullshit (impossible) puzzles and terrible voice acting.

Diablo 4, can’t think of anything worse I’ve beaten in 20 years. It really was insultingly bad and I’m ashamed of myself for buying it.

I just don’t get how they could spend 6 years and hundreds of millions of dollars to downgrade the gameplay from diablo 2 - a 20 year old game and diablo 3 - a 10 year old game. It doesn’t even have loot, they removed all the varieties of loot from previous games and only left uniques - but they only drop after you’ve beaten the game and are so rare you’ll never see one.

I will be publicly executed for this: Uncharted 4

I was climbing 80% of the time, occasional car chase and stealth, and fuckton of dialogues. I finished it solemnly because I invested too much time in it. I got it free with my PS4 and I want my money back.
