It’s very much a reddit phenomenon though. People hate on it for the exclusive fact that Miyazaki didn’t direct it and have all kinds of weird nitpicking criticisms to try and justify it. Meanwhile I was oblivious and loved it and it’s also the highest reviewed entry in the series.
EU or Australia It’s a refund and they can’t do shit about it. The stuff has to be in a disclaimer before it’s even installed to be legitimate.
As a Souls fan I found somewhat paradoxically that bosses are MUCH easier going in blind. Every boss is just another boss and the most important part of the struggle is usually learning attacks and timings which is harder to do if you’re not doing it via experience.
It has the added benefits of everything being a surprise, avoiding toxic douchebags telling you to git gud, ng+ having lots more to offer and often realising you beat a ‘hard’ boss first try when you’re done.
I’ve been on a journey with it, loved it to start, then got disappointed that you don’t just blow stuff up, then I realised it’s actually more fun that you don’t just blow stuff up.
Some of the level design is incredible too, act 2 was wow.
Is Todd from the future? Is he saying it’ll be fun in 2030?

I landed a dream job that people would probably literally kill for. 10 years later and the sacrifices and compromises I had to make have l left me broken and lost.
It’s all fun and games until you have to do it every day and live it and take it seriously. Yeah sure everyone wants to work for Nintendo until you are confronted with the day to day reality for years on end.
Diablo 4, can’t think of anything worse I’ve beaten in 20 years. It really was insultingly bad and I’m ashamed of myself for buying it.
I just don’t get how they could spend 6 years and hundreds of millions of dollars to downgrade the gameplay from diablo 2 - a 20 year old game and diablo 3 - a 10 year old game. It doesn’t even have loot, they removed all the varieties of loot from previous games and only left uniques - but they only drop after you’ve beaten the game and are so rare you’ll never see one.

The original has an average of 63 on metacritic, the sequel got 9/10

I’m in the minority but I think GTA 6 will be a very significant step down. They drank the mtx kool aid with GTA online and companies never undrink the kool aid.
If they completely removed mtx and actually made the game good they might actually sell a few xboxes
No point having mtx in a game if the price you pay is killing your biggest franchise. They’ve lost way more money in potential earnings than they could ever earn from an in game store.
All they really want is for your game to be good.
I was on the subs for ToTK and Elden Ring when they released and people were busy posting/shitposting about the games. Very few people were complaining or asking for more. I think their problem is Diablo 4 is shit and they ruined Overwatch.
Bungie layoffs are a good thing though, studios that make games as a service need to tank for the health of the industry.
No one is better off when there are more microtransactions out there.
