I’m sorry but there’s no good reason I should be forced to be stuck waiting for 20-30 mins clicking around aimlessly on my way to lose MMR because I have a griefer on my team feeding. The fact that this game builds into it a function that objectively ruins the experience for gamers is nuts.

I can’t just sit in fountain and wait or abandon or anything. The game forces me to go clicking around in circles in the woods for 20 minutes. That is something valve is consciously requiring me to do or force penalizing. The stupidity is just amazing.

Adding vote to kick and forfeit would not cause any issue that outweighs the pain of being stuck in a ruined match.

It’s just unacceptable and stupid of Valve to have a system like this which penalizes good players so often.

But maybe Valve wants this garbage going on to keep everyone from increasing their MMR too fast.

They should add a system that allows players to vote if a person is griefing the game and if it reaches 4 votes this person gets booted out of the game with a loss and another person takes control of the hero, there will be a separate queue for this, where you gain half mmr for a win and half mmr for a loss. The anti-griefer queue. Add some restrictions like the ability to vote only once per game or some shit too

I can see that youre upset, but trust me, take a break for a day or so and come back to the game with a different mindset.

Ive had these same thoughts but having a give up button is not a good idea, firstly because it promotes giving up fast and going next, instead of playing and probably losing and learning something and maybe even WINNING, and secondly because your games are going to get griefed even harder when you get a 4 stack that wants to give up and go next because -insert totaly dumb reason here- or -insert even dumber reason here-.

Some of my last games have been these ultra lategame slogs that can seriously go either way with just a single mistake and let me tell you, winning these games IS DotA, when the teams are evenly matched and you outplay your opponents with superior game knowledge/positioning/NOT GIVING UP/whatever reason really, that is why you play this game, and getting a give up button is stripping everybody of that high.

I know how you feel, but trust me, you dont actually feel this way, youre just emotional because some animal ruinned your game and thats absolutely fine.

Nope. Awful idea in my opinion.

The main reason is that if we had a surrender option, we wouldn’t see 90% of the comebacks that we do.

Quite a lot of Dota players are very fragile, and will give up if they’re not having the perfect game. They just can’t see how to win through their own frustration.

Never give up, even with a greifer there is a chance the enemy team will relax too much, and give way for a come back.
