Bagley: 16 minutes
Killian: 22 minutes
By contrast our better shooters played heavy minutes.
Ivey: 29 minutes.
Knox: 31 minutes.
Burks: 24 minutes.
These extra minutes for good shooters did not work (obviously), in part because most our good shooters aren’t available, but it is a step in the right direction.
Also I know Ausar getting benched is this subs 9/11, but if you prioritize spacing, Ausar might get a shorter leash for rookie mistakes, as he is the worst 3pt shooter on the team.

Idk what it is about Ausars 3 point shot, it actually doesn’t look too bad but the guy has to use some more legs. Before last night 25% of his attempts were airballs from 3, that’s more than he makes…
He has good form, he just needs to relax when he shoots, and hopefully he’ll learn that through experience.

Our good shooters are bad defenders. Our good defenders are bad shooters. Beef stew being the closest we have to a 2-way player, which is frankly sad.
I think burks is an adequate defender and thus a two way player as well. The rest are young and will even out their games as the season goes
I loved that Ausar got benched. He’s a phenomenal defender, but he’s still a rookie. We can let him develop, instead of throwing him in the fire like our last few rookie classes.
Me too. He also rewarded Ivey with an extended run (after good play; as everyone was clamoring for) and held another player besides Ivey accountable (which everyone was clamoring for). So of course, the fans are pissed 😂😂

He started two non-shooters. That is the opposite of prioritizing spacing. Starting even one of them is something that NBA offenses avoid unless it’s absolutely unavoidable, because it severely hurts spacing. Monty started not one but two, the effect of which compounds into far worse than double the effect of one. At the very least, he could have replaced Killian with Burks. He did not.

Bagley was fighting off an illness. He went to the locker room partway through the game and did not return.
Now this ladies and gentlemen is why 3-D players are valued as some of the most valuable assets other than superstars
Hell if Ausar ever develops a 3 ball he’s instantly one of the most valuable players in the nba even if he isn’t an all star
