Who is a realistic trade target that contributes to both immediate and long term winning who can help Cade offensively and add wins to our team?

I was thinking something kind of realistic is Jerami Grant. We could throw Harris, Wiseman, Morris for their expiring contracts and some 2nds to the blazers. They’re not competing this year, and getting out from his contract may be wise. People here call him a ball stopper, but that hasn’t been the case in Portland. He’s good defensively and will age well with his jump shot.

Another, perhaps less realistic target would be Lauri on the Jazz. They’re terrible this year and he’s a free agent after 2025. Trading for him and signing him to a Max could be wise. He is still young, a 7 footer who can shoot, score and defend. Ivey would probably be the center piece, our first in 2029, some seconds and expiring contracts could tempt the Jazz.

I see Kyle Kuzma is on the market. At the right price, he at least brings floor spacing and scoring. Again, still young.

I also thought of John Collins for his shooting and interior defense. He was practically given away by the Hawks last season and should be cheap.

I think we should give Cade minutes at the 2 & 3 before we evaluate the best way to help him reach his potential.

I think we take Cade/Ausar and look at how Boston built around the jays. The advantage of having two heady, switchable wings is undermined by throwing the ball in Cade’s hands and asking him to create.

Would love to see Cade get minutes alongside Monte, Bojan & Duren w/ Monte initiating some of the offense and a Cade/Duren pick and roll being heavily featured.

A guy who can shoot it with some level of ballhandling / shot creation who doesnt come at an exorbitant price. I was think Tyler Herro or Anfernee Simons.

I would take him in a heartbeat, but I have a feeling it would cost us a ton and MN probably wants draft capital after they shipped all of theirs for Gobert.

The question is Minnesota willing to get rid of him? They spent so much to get Rudy for the sake of pairing with Kat, only to trade him here?

Id be cool with someone like kat and say what u want but he would instantly be our best player and would help with a lot of issues we have. I also think siakam or anunoby would be good additions. The pistons have so many holes on this roster that really any upgrade would help tbh cuz we arent gonna go far with the vets we have on our roster rn

We need to bring in one of those young super-athletic guards who can get to the rim AND shoot threes at a high level AND create for others.

Just spitballin’ here, but what if we got a guard who had a .629 TS% AND was scoring AND assisting more than Sharpe, Mathurin, or Keegan Murray per 36? (Murray, btw, is at .485 TS% for comparison).

And he was shooting nearly .400 from 3?

AND he loved the city and actually wanted to play here?

Nah, who am I kidding. We can never be lucky enough you get a guy like that.

    Oh wait…

I don’t think Portland would trade Jerami for expirings and some 2nds. Getting off of his contract doesn’t do much for them as they’d be over the cap regardless next year and most likely the year after that, depending on how much the cap rises.

Lauri was an all-star last year and is probably going to be one again this year. He’s only 26, so he fits their timeline with Kessler and Keyonte. Speaking of Kessler, he’s been injured this year, which has caused a lot of issues for them. I don’t see Utah trading him because of this, even if Ivey, our 2029 1st, and some 2nds was the offer.

Kuzma is a tough one. He’s had a good season so far and is on a great contract that’ll only get better with time since it’s front-loaded. But, I don’t know if he necessarily fits the character of player we would want and if he’d be fine becoming the 3rd option behind Cade and Ivey when that time comes. Plus, I don’t know if we have the right package for him. The 2029 1st and the Wizards 2nd this year are valuable, but the Wizards may decide to just keep him and look for other offers.

The chance to get Collins passed in the offseason. He’s silenced the criticism of his 3pt shot this year, and it looks like the Jazz need him at PF with how they are handling Taylor Hendricks.

Tbh, I don’t think there is a right option to add a PF rn. Teams don’t trade this early (except for James Harden). I think we’ll see how Bojan looks when he gets back ans use that information to make a decision.

You’ll see him tonight, OG Anunoby. All defensive team wing, shoots 40% from three. You’re Welcome

Let’s trade Killian, Rhoden, and Umude for Bojan Bogdanovic, Monte Morris, and Livers. It would help our spacing so much and reduce turnovers.

We could just start Jaden Ivey. You know the rookie that our entire fanbase was pumped about and who had an amazing end to his first year.

Probably unrealistic but I’d love JJJ. Would fit perfect at PF. I’d give up a decent amount for him.

I would love Lauri, I think the Jazz would want to keep him though right? I do not want to trade any of the players that we drafted. I want them to develop and stay here.

Kuzma is not really a Troy Weaver type guy. I don’t see Weaver going after Collins either; Weaver has certain type of guys he goes after and I can just tell these two are guys who would not want in his locker room

I think we’ll target the next disgruntled star requesting a trade: Zion Williamson
