Back in the innocent days of Destiny 1, my friends and I used to joke that Bungie made a great game and then ruined it by managing it. After Destiny 2 launched, we didn’t joke about it anymore. I think more people have quit Destiny in disgust than any other game. I think Bungie and Sony cannot overestimate how much bad will that Bungie has generated with players.

This game is not welcoming to new players or returning players who missed out on the content since launch. I tried getting back into the game a year ago after platinuming it, but my OG clan is long gone.

The DLCs killed it for me weirdly enough. This model where if you don’t buy the latest DLC, you might as well not play is weird to me. DLC is meant to be optional.

Once my clan split, destiny became a much more hollowed experience for me. Running a few campaigns alone was fine, I enjoyed some of the story beats and missions. However, I was absent from raids and other clan based activities. It was hard for me to find a new clan, and one that didn’t consist of 1000 members on a discord channel. I do miss the destiny experience, but alas, life goes on.

That makes sense, isnt the game really old now? Dont get me wrong, i am not defending destiny, but if there is no exciting expansions to bring players in, the game will die.

I was a newer player when the new expansion came out. What I found most bizarre was how much the content costed being over $100. Then pay $60 every 3 months.

I bet you a Linux build or just allow Proton for Steam Deck would help out pretty significantly. I would so easily play it while watching TV
