Just curious, because personally I bought it mostly with a hope that I will start playing games again and I’m overthinking if it will be what I needed.

Lately (for 2 years) feeling kinda depressed and not really playing games, finished one title (Disco Elysium) in this time. I have some backlog at steam but I’m thinking if I’ll even use the deck…

Steam Deck is the only reason why I still can play games. I have a family with kids, a job and a lot other responsibilities. It is almost impossible for me to sit down in front of my gaming PC or TV for multiple hours to play video games. With the Deck and especially with the quick suspend and quick resume functionality, I manage to implement some gaming time during the day here and there. Steam Deck is the straw keeping me connected to my long time hobby.

it’s the main reason I bought a steam deck, I have a gaming PC but to hassle to start my PC and just sit at my desk for long periods of times always deters me from even getting started. being able to play whenever wherever comfortably will hopefully get me to play more often because my backlog is huge

Yeah, playing in the Steam Deck just instantly always makes me excited to get back into whatever game I feel like playing. Can’t really say that about most modern consoles. Just need to build a fun library games on Steam

I never stopped enjoying games, just like I never stopped enjoying music, films and books. How can you stop enjoying games when there are 50 years worth of games to play.

Lack of time. Try gaming glued to the tv with a 2 year old and a 3 year old running around needing supervision lol 😂 I can tell you right now it doesn’t work out. Especially with my youngest trying to grab the controller every 5 seconds lol

It’s deffo helped me play my PC games more than I was, I work from home and I spend all day at my desk and the last thing I want to do sometimes is then sit there to play games. Having a steam deck means I can still play my steam games from the comfort of my bed

It made me enjoy some games again, but for the most part, no. I replayed most of my library on steam to the point where I can’t even look at these titles, currently waiting for winter sale to buy rdr2 and possibly some more.

Yes. Dunno if it was mostly deck or mostly antidepressants, or both, but fact is - I enjoy playing games again.

I have two young children and a full time job where I often end up staying an hour late. I’ve barely touched my playstation over the last couple of years beyond the first couple of weeks after each child was born.

The Steam Deck means I can still be a gamer. My hour-long commute on the train has become two daily hour-long gaming sessions. Gamechanger for me

Yeah I’ve been feeling that way. No game would catch my attention. I’d buy games I like and wouldn’t really play them but because of my Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck it’s brought me back but it also brought me back to playing my PS5 and PC. I think we just end up in a rut sometimes or we play too many games in a short amount of time and burn ourselves out
