On one hand, you’ve got a bye on the other side of the Bears game so you’re giving him 2 more weeks to rest.
On the other hand, if you lose that Bears game you’re 6-6 and on a two-game losing skid going into the bye.
What would you do?
Don’t play him until he’s 100% for sure. This season is not worth his future
Is he still not 100% healthy? The answer to this question is the answer to yours.
You don’t risk a more serious hamstring injury. If he’s good to go, he goes. If not, he doesn’t. That simple.
My concern is that he won’t be the difference maker he was with Kirk. Dobbs hasn’t shown the ability to push the ball down the field yet. Hoping that changes as he learns the offense but like I said it’s a concern potentially. Rest him into bye.
Even if he won’t produce as much as he did with Kirk, just having him on the field takes up defenders which can open up the run game (also for Dobbs). And if he doesn’t take up that much extra coverage then you got more chances to throw to him. Surtain taking Addison out of the same is a prime example, had JJ been out there Addison probably would’ve had more targets.
Obviously his health comes first and make sure he’s 100%, but either way him being out there will make an impact either by his own plays or by allowing others to make more plays.
Rest that man.
He’s not playing with the bye week coming, I’d be shocked if he was out there.
Being 6-6 going into the bye would have sounded like a pipe dream after being 1-4 and losing Jefferson to injury. Then, after being 4-4, losing Cousins – to manage a .500 record without those guys would have sounded ridiculous after that 5th week. So look at it with that perspective. Jefferson is too good and too important to risk hurting for no good reason. I say even if he’s 95%, rest him another week, let him get full participation in practice and shake off the rust.
Yes! 100% yes! He’s the future of this team, you rest him even if he’s 100% healed
Didn’t he have a 21 day window to come back before the Saints game?
If he’s ready, play him, if he’s not, don’t. Pretty simple.
