I know it’s early but after just two seasons, our team looks better than ever. And that’s the second time in exactly 10 years that Tim builds a contender out of a stagnant medium market team. Minny was arguably a much tougher assignment for obvious reasons…

Is Tim really just that good?

Certainly hope so, it would be really cool to finally have a basketball genius in our ranks.

Everyone is going to think about the trade and what we gave up, however…

League: I think we currently have one of the best, well put together, and innovative teams in the league. Part of that is from Rosas and part Connelly. However, it is Tim’s vision of skilled bigs that is pushing this team and setting a new trend in the league we’re Rosas was much more interested in small ball.

Franchise history: if you look at the Timberwolves in 2003/2004, our best year, I think this year’s team beats that team. They did it with a bonified 28 year old super star and a ton of really good role players. But our depth right now is deeper than 2003/2004.

And this is just talking about us. The fact he plucked Jokic out of a crowd and put him in a system that would propell him to be the best player in the league… Tim Connelly has outsmarted the league, been an innovator, and is the best executive in the league.

And he did all this in two small markets.

No. He has to dig himself out of the asset dearth the Gobert trade created before I get there.

Been a lurking Jazz fan for years. I came over to congratulate you guys beginning of last year and how this was the perfect trade to help KAT since he isn’t a traditional rim protector, and perfect team for gobert since the Jazz weakness was fellow perimeter defenders. I truly thought it would work synergistically, and when last year looked bad, thought I might have egg on my face.

Gobert takes awhile to get used to, Conley needed a full year to work and play with him bc all of the gravity Gobert has and extra bodies in the offensive paint, and the fact that he has bad hands and kinda needs perfect passes in order to score.

I’m glad to see with a whole year it all gelled. Just hoping gobert doesn’t hit a decline due to age soon.

Really pumped it is all coming together for your team and goberts sake. Wish minn the best

The guy everyone called crazy might turn out to be a genius. I want to wait for the playoffs though and want to see more matchups especially the Sixers, Bucks, Nuggets in Denver, OKC, and Phoenix when rested. Theoretically the team he’s constructed does seem like a bad matchup for many teams and we can see the vision. I need to see it to truly believe it though.

But it is interesting that Bill Simmons talked about feeling like the league is reverting to big men and old school ball. It’s happening. Zagging might work.

Dont get me wrong but I thought Minny was the easier assignment between Denver and Minnesota. Remember we beat them in the pseudo-play in back with Jimmy Butler in 2017.
