I still think my LCD screen is awesome. I’m not upgrading. My deck feels brand new for a 1 year old device.

Perfectly happy with my LCD as I’ve fine-tuned everything and have a OLED TV for couch play

I’m happy with mine. But still shocked that they stop the making of the 64GB version. I think this version is incredible in this price. Probably the only reason that I have one because I’m from a cheap country and I could even afford that version. I have zero interest in the OLED version.

Me. Because i want to not lose money on my purchase and because i now use it mostly for work rather than gaming so static images will be plenty tho it is connected to a monitor so it doesn’t matter

Me. I don’t even use the onboard screen anyways. Mine is hooked to my TV with a keyboard, mouse, and controller hooked up to it.

Who actually uses the screen anyways?

I was really on the fence, but the main draw of it for me was the backlight versus the OLED. I use ReShade’s HDR Shader and Vibrant Deck in just about every game it will work with. Over time, all that effort and adjustment adds up.

Another thing is after having my LCD for over a year, i told myself I would upgrade the SSD to 1TB around this time. A 1TB upgrade is going to cost me $150 CAD from amazon after tax plus the hassle of installing it. So that closes the gap in cost between the $3-400 difference in the price if looking at the 1TB OLED.

I play on my External Display most of the time, so battery life isn’t a huge thing, but I do play occasionally in my car when parked somewhere etc. So it’s a small consideration.

And the next thing while small also, is still a factor. And that is renewed warranty. That is another year of coverage for replacement/fixes if something happens; whereas if something happened to my LCD in the next year, that’s out of pocket to fix or replace.

And then there is the heat and quiterfan.

I haven’t upgraded yet, but the points in favor of it is heavy. I doubt I can hold out till a new version, which will be probably1.5-2 years away at least. And the longer I wait, is the closer to the next release, so sooner I upgrade the more value out of it I get. Probably will in December; possibly wait till Boxing day to see if they have a special sale.

A 1TB upgrade is going to cost me $150 CAD from amazon after tax

1TB MP600 is $109.99 on Amazon right now. That’s $126.49 with 15% sales tax if you live in the Maritimes, and obviously less if you live in other parts of Canada.

Just because it is on sale now, doesn’t mean it was always on sale, or always will be that price.

The point of the mention, was simply to indicate that the price of the OLED upgrade is offset by a cost I’d otherwise have to pay if not; not about the granular details of the best/worst price of an SSD.

So… you are upgrading…? This was the longest, vague, and most unclear post I’ve read on this subreddit, it’s actually impressive

Keeping mine until Steamdeck 2. I’m a PC enthusiast not a Switch owner, to justify a new build I need significant performance of 15% or more. I use Xreal Air’s anyway which are OLED 120hz screens.

Grabbed a Legion Go for that reason and own a plethora of PC handhelds.

As nice as it is, steam deck 2 will be here before you know it (as least that how it feels to me). I’d rather put the money towards a bigger ssd, that 1.5tb SD card

Won’t upgrade unless I could at least afford 2, just because while it’s a good price overall I can’t justify it after only a year of use.

That being said, it’s a great device from what I gather and well worth the upgrade, I’ve just always been a sort of ‘simple will do’ kinda guy - there’s no real need to upgrade!
