This certainly means they’ll go for hometown HC candidate Ben Johnson again, but I wonder if the situation is too crazy for him to take it. He did turn them down last year too.

Johnson remains one of the most talked about HC candidates in the NFL, with another opening now available in 2024 do we think there’s any chance he returns to Detroit?

Chargers job is perfect for him. Top QB, defensive stars, top stadium, warm high profile city. He could have a long run for the rest of his career in LA if he pans out. All the ingredients are there for a quick turnaround.

I don’t know if I would want to be hired by an organization that fired their last coach after 11 games.

Watching what a dumpster fire their organization became this season probably reaffirmed his choice to stay away so I doubt he calls them back. Waiting for the LAC job anyway

Cool seeing Caldwell slowly climb back up would love to see him get the gig and help bridge the Panthers

Maybe Duce Staley comes back to Detroit, as our OC replacing Ben Johnson.

I can see Carolina going after BJ but… Not sure he’d take it.

They hired Reich in January and then traded in March with the Bears. IMO they are in a FAR worse position now than when BJ first turned them down. They lost many assets for a QB that doesn’t appear to be all that. Now they are limited in their capital to rebuild. This seems like a shit storm to come in to.

BJ will likely have options and seems smart, but I doubt he takes the job in Carolina after turning it down last year.

Only HC job I see him taking is in San Diego if they fire Staley. AG might get a shot at Carolina, or he may not get a shot at all.

Ben Johnson will be leaving for sure, I just don’t want him in our division though. Let him go to any other team not named the Chicago Bears.

Johnson is one of the top candidates this offseason. Hell he was up there last year and his stock has only gone up imo. The panthers almost had him last year I definitely could see them giving him a shot. Especially since he is getting a lot of credit for Goff playing his best football. Another guy who is kind of being overlooked is Bieneimy not sure why. KC hasn’t looked as good offensively this year after loosing him and Sam Howell has been doing decent with peanuts around him. And you know he is mostly running that offense.
