Expectations lowered?

Higher?

Are you enjoying Darko’s coaching? How about the development of Malachi, or other bench guys?

Are your thoughts on Pascal or Scottie the same?

We are 8-9, almost .500 which is what I think most people expected.

Hate Masai or the FO?

Rebuild, get help? Let’s hear your thoughts.

Still concerned about looming FAs, but Scottie looks great and the product overall is more watchable

    Pretty much meeting expectations.

Some surprises (Malachi being a decent backup mostly) and some drawbacks (Trent having a down season, Precious being the same player he’s been for years).

I think people need to calm down, there are lots of good things happening. One thing I’d like to see the team work on is how they react when they’re down by a lot - half of the losses have been blow-outs, like the team stopped trying after being down by big points. Some of those games should have been closer.

I feel very frustrated. Still have no clue what the direction is and feel like we’re in the worst place possible as a treadmill team with no FRP

Although he looks dumbfounded at times, Darko has helped him improve in other ways.

Would help if the team could throw an accurate lob for him too. Needs the ball in his hands less, good off the ball / cutting. Wish his 3p would fall more

Feels like we’re just spinning our wheels, not really good enough to compete. Growth from Scottie and OG has been nice but having Pascal around kind of limits their usage. Not a fan of Malachai or Achiuwa, and disappointed so far with Dick though I do see potential in him. Poeltl and Schroeder have been solid. Really think we need a star pg to take us to the next level

I’ve been watching other teams and checking highlights and 4th quarters of some games. It’s hard to get excited about this team besides Scottie’s growth, because I’m tired of the front office doubling down on a flawed roster. At this point it feels like they’re trying to insult my intelligence, so I spend my evenings checking out what’s going on across the league instead.

    I’ll just answer your Q’s

Expectations are lowered now, I came in buying the hype. But I’m not like super disappointed.

I do enjoy Darko’s coaching. I like that he uses timeouts like a classic coach did back in the day to stop runs and callout careless mistakes (or even if the guys are gassed). My wife said to me “This season you always say ‘good timeout good timeout’ you never say ‘where is the timeout?!?’ anymore” so I guess that’s a good measure of me.

It’s great to see bench players get minutes. It’s frustrating to see the +/- of our bench guys but I always thought “how can they develop if they do not play?” so kudos to Darko for getting more people reps.

Thoughts on P and Barnes. Siakam was struggling early and it looked bad but he actually looks like he’s in peak performance rn. Still early days to say this of course, but it’s just nice to see him hunt mismatches in the post and the defending team has to react to it. Scottie is just getting better and better. For me the frustrating thing is how pissed/annoyed he gets when calls are missed or a teammate misses a pass/shot. Sometimes he really fires the ball at our other guys and they cant handle a 100mph fastball when standing 3 feet away from him. In 2K it’s great because auto-catch, but he’s gotta make the passes a liiiiiittle easier to catch for stonehand guys like Precious or Jakob.

Record is okay for now I’m just glad we’re not doing a lot worse.

I don’t hate Masai or the FO. I don’t always agree, and I know they know we need shooters, but I worry about the relationship to Pascal and him becoming untradeable. He’s amazing, but that just means his value is high. It’s tough I kind of go back and forth about this, because Scottie is great but he’s not polished yet. However if we had like oh IDK Mitchell or Lillard…well you don’t know what you don’t know. End of the day, Masai/Bobby/FO are professionals and have years of experience in the game. I’m just a dude who likes to watch this team play. So I’ll defer to their judgment.

Just as expected. We’re a .500 team this year and we’ll see what happens at the deadline.

They’re a good team with limited upside but need to probably pick a direction

Overall expectations for the team/season are what I expected before the year started. Decent team that could fight for a playoff spot and maybe get past the first round if they get high enough seeding, but likely wouldn’t make it past there. You can see what they’re trying to build. There are good parts on this team, but they don’t seem to mesh as a whole overall, or at least they won’t without too many players developing at an above average rate.

Scottie is looking awesome to start the season. He’s slowed down a bit offensively these past few games, but his defensive impact is still elite. I hope they go back to him being more of a help defender rather than a PoA defender (never has been his strongest trait). Also hoping to see Scottie impose his will a bit more on offense especially when he has the bench lineups, but I understand it’s pretty hard when he’s the only realistic offensive threat on the floor. If the bench players shot better I think it would open that game up for him because he could reliable drive and dish for a bucket. From the eye test he looks noticeably better having guys like Otto, Gary and Malachi on the floor with him if it’s all bench.

OG is also super important to this team having any sort of success whether it’s this year or down the line. Hopefully the FO can sign him up long term this off season so at the very least we’ll have a core of OG and Scottie which defensively, is elite and their offensive skills pair well enough too.

Fairly impressed with Darko so far, we’ve already seen growth from Scottie, OG & Malachi.

Hopefully he can work some of that magic on Gary, Precious & Gradey.

Yeah, growth from unplayable to garbage time player isn’t going to cut it unfortunately.

I really don’t think we should bring Malachi back unless he shows far more than we have seen from him this season.
