This project is clearly vibe slopped to hell and back but this would be good to analyze for ideas to optimize my NixOS config. Sometimes those clankers can hallucinate useful ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Why do people always use “clanker” as some weird stand in to make faux-inappropriate comments? Like it’s always “Well, I’d like to do a racism today but want to make sure I can get away with it on technicality.”
Comparing people experiencing racism with computers does not sound like the appropriate opinion you think it is.
The problem is, the copyright advocates already dehumanize the people behind the machines by default, equating them to the machines, so when they use a slur against “machines” they target the people utilizing the machines, not the actual machines.
Using “acceptable slurs” and dehumanizing is the default modus operandi of radlibs.
Why do people performatively reply to comments to self-righteously nitpick about the terminology someone used?
The race being… AI?
Calling a robot names is racism?
Lol. Lmao even.
This comment would make sense if it was in reference to anything resembling a human. It’s dehumanizing language for something that people claim exhibits creativity and makes art. Fuck clankers. They’re not people. Literally. Data centers are cooking the planet and you’re mincing words about how we refer to what will eventually kill us. It’s not racism. AI isn’t people and LLMs aren’t a race. Go all the way away with this.
ai is not going to kill, the bourgeoisie is.
While I dislike LLMs as much as the next guy, I actually find the use of the term “clankers” to be the opposite of dehumanizing. Admittedly, I think I may be on the more empathetic side, but when I see/hear it used it feels like you are trying to be discriminatory to a race or group of people. I have never considered LLMs or AI to be sentient but that recognition of a pattern triggers an empathy within me that is missing without its use.

I don’t like Xfce, it somehow manages to be more resource heavy than MATE, and renaming a file or a folder shouldn’t be a dialog. LXQt should be the desktop environment of choice for any lightweight distro.
Holy Torvalds, that intro video was hard to watch.
