Rockets fan here - following y’all’s rebuild closet since the Jalen/Cade picks.

I’ll admit, Cade looks better than Jalen (who sucks) but wtf is going on with the Pistons as a whole?

Tanking serves a purpose for a few years but after 5 ish years… it starts looking like a cancerous situation.

Y’all hired an expensive coach and paid some players - what’s the next step? Why so bad still?

If you ask 100 fans you’ll get 100 answers.

Every one is trying to find a scape goat right now.

I think the problem simply boils down to the fact our opening night starting line up was Cade - Killian - Ausar - Stewart - Duren.

That lineup is laughable due to the insane lack of shooting.

Naturally we are last in 3PA which has completely collapsed the court making it super hard to score at the rim. And no one on the squad really gets to the free throw line while doing it.

After deciding to watch every pistons game like exactly 5 years ago here’s my take: Troy weaver drafted fine, aside from killian. Saddiq bey and Stewart were solid pickps with role player potential (which I still believe). They purposely tanked that year (which is fine) and players developed. Next year they get CADE 🥹 and naturally, we think we’ll take a huge leap (which in hindsight was misguided). By the end of the season, we were disappointed but understood that another high draft pick is smart in the long run. This is where we took the wrong turn. Instead of moving into competitive growth mode, win some games-- we decided to trade Jerami Grant (fine) retain Dwane Casey, and sign Bojan (just enough to PRETEND we want to be competitive). Well, Cade got hurt, the team struggled again (which they would’ve with Cade anyways) and I’m sure it hurt their confidence (even though they were setup to lose). Finally, this year, its the year to ACTUALLY make a leap! Cade is back, Ivey and Duren have entered the fray, and we got cap space! Let’s surround them with a couple talented veterans, eh?! Nah. Joe harris. Monte Morris. But hey, if everyone’s healthy, that should give cade and ivey and duren enough veteran pressence to win some games and build aome confidence as the season goes on! Nah-- bojan, monte, joe hurt. Now they will endure ANOTHER losing season and have another shot at it next year after another 65 losses straight to the face of these young and impressionable kids. Weaver will prolly make an ill-advised signing (finally) to save his job, and depending who he gets, they might have a shot next year. But truly, this might be another blow-it up situstion here soon with the kids’ rookie contract running out 🤷‍♂️ thanks for reading lmao this my therapy

Roster doesn’t work. Too many young guys, not enough veteran leadership. Losing culture. Nepotism. I could go on for a while tbh
