i’d say you should try maining both of them, they both have their own highs and lows

for example, if you mained both you could get out of a situation where mercy doesnt work and change to lucio to be a better help for the team or viceversa

from a fellow mercy main, i’d like to remind you that if you do end up playing mercy you souldnt be focusing on JUST your pocket, if your team needs your help DO IT as its better to have your whole team alive than just you and your pocket

Depends if your team plays clumped together. If you have a flanking sniper and a Pharah, Lucio isn’t going to help them. Also depends if there is AOE damage coming from your opponents, if yes Lucio is going to be strong. It’s best to learn both and pick accordingly.

A speed boosted Rein or ulting Rammattra is the stuff of nightmares.

I used to be a healbot Lucio main that averaged 10-15k heals a game, anything is possible

Don’t do that though, Lucio provides so much value and can change a game but he’s very hard to learn well enough to where you actually provide value to your team. Mercy on the other hand is very easy to learn and you can easily reach the skill level needed to where you provide a ton of value to your team, so mercy is generally the safer option. You’d have to be braindead to be bad at mercy (but also you’d be surprised)

both are terrible. Just play Bap or Ana. The two you mentioned are currently the worst supports in the game.

Tough one. Both heroes have great mobility and can survive pretty well. Lucio: pro:

• unique team mobility - great for slow tanks like Zarya and Hog.
• great ult to prevent instant team death - best against Junkerqueen
• can boop dangers away like Bob or Reaper ult.
• good option to deny enemy team from taking control of a payload Contra:
• Lack of burst heal makes it easy for DPs like Echo to take out the team one by one, starting with the other support
• bad when the team is split up as it happens often in lower ranks

Mercy: Pro:

• very good damage boost
• very good at keeping teammates healed while staying out of the enemy’s sight
• res skill
• very good at staying alive with some skill Contra:
• considerably less value if they have to pick up the slack of the other support and do the main healing
• very bad survival qualities when being last woman standing compared to other supports

I would think that Mercy would be quite decent in metal ranks and giving less value at a higher level when Ana/Kiriko/Zen get more prevalent. With Lucio, you might only see him shine when being out of metal ranks.

Mercy imo. Lucio is kinda wack. People in low SR won’t even know how to use your speed boost which is the best part of his kit
