Yes, it’s his 2nd full season as head coach, and so far he is 12-16 over the last year and half.

I know it’s an unpopular topic and one that many diehard Saints fans will argue about, but we barely escaped Carolina with a win, got our ass handed to us in the Dome by the Bucs, then lost to the Falcons in the ATL. We have the Lions coming to town this weekend playing some of the best ball they have in years, and then have the Panthers at home and Giants at home.

I’m under the opinion that if we lose 3 out of the next 6 games, we might be looking elsewhere for a head coach.

What do y’all think?

We must find a better HC ,he can stay as our DC but he ain’t good enough to be a head coach

I’ve seen comments on Youtube about his contract coinciding with the first out in Carr’s contract, and the reason he’s not flipping out is because Carmichael likely loses his job after the season, and he gets one more shot with a new OC… I think there could be some validity to that, especially since they’re going to want to keep the defense rolling. I think it could work - it would give the front office the continuity they wanted from the Sean Payton Era, and introduce a new offensive scheme (hopefully from one of the fresh new minds) to reinvigorate the offense. I’m not particularly a fan of him as a head coach, but maybe with a new OC he can make it work.

I will always go back to what Cam Jordan told Rich Eisen when asked the question “What’s it like playing for a defense-minded head coach as opposed to an offense-minded one?” Cam replied “When the defense wins, we don’t run it back.” That’s troubling to me, and might really be the underlying issue why this high-powered offense can’t seem to get right.

Loomis needs to be kicked to the curb too. Do what the Raiders did and send Loomis and Allen packing.

I hate to say it but I think he should get one more year. I think k we need a new coach when we get a new quarterback. Give a new coach Derek Carr and he’s going to fail too.

I dunno, if Allen goes now, the new coaching regime gets a year to give Carr another shot, show some modern offense, and draft a replacement (one Jayden Daniels, please) to sit behind him a la Alex Smith and Mahomes.

The biggest indicator in this to me is the shift I’ve seen in Nick Underhill’s opinion. All season he’s reported that this front office will ride or die with what they’ve got. But in the last week or so his rhetoric has taken a much harder turn against the coaching. He said that he thinks Kamara’s recent comment about the locker room not being lost “amongst the players” was a deliberate dig at this coaching staff.

Reading between the lines, I can’t help but think Underhill talked to someone very high up with the Saints and they told him off the record that major changes are coming.

I noticed that too. He’s always been transparent with his opinions yet tries to stay objective on facts and situations, but this week he’s called the team mid and been very very sour about the staff. I hope it’s a sign of big changes incoming

If you heard Mickey Loomis, he still believes we have an explosive offensive, so Nick may not have heard from someone super high up unless he’s buddies with Gayle Benson.

I noticed this as well. Nick is pretty well connected. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Nothing will Make us fire him or PC. We are completely unwilling to change I have finally given up on them making any changes. At this point just pray to god he’s gone after the season is over. Along with PC of course

I feel he needs to win 4 of 6 to have a chance at keeping his job. He doesn’t deserve to keep his job. He has filtered out excuses for mediocre play, week after week, for 2 years now and despite spending a pile of cash to give him the QB and other players he wanted the team is not producing wins. It is clear he is not a coach that knows how to win consistently (the record vs the weakest schedule in the NFL says it all), is willing to make the tough management calls (like Carmichael), or inspires confidence in the players (listen to what Kamara is trying to say).

When you are in a game and things are going sideways, the players look to the coach for what to do. DA doesn’t seem to have any answers for them. “Keep doing what your doing.”
