This is basically the only good thing to watch about the raptors, and even then there is basically 1 player who we are developing that is guaranteed to be a part of the raptors future. We have the 8th oldest roster in the league. This isn’t some young fun developing team.

This is a niche product for a small but declining casual audience. The Raptors can’t grow this business without a price advantage (they should drop prices if they refuse to change the product). Business executives usually hate decreasing prices - it’s easier to fire employees than decreasing and then later increasing prices.
A rebuilding team is a niche product for a small but potentially influential enthusiast audience. MLSE must have some data to indicate that enthusiast fans who advocate for a rebuild are not big spenders. IMO this is probably crappy marketing - the current strategy of selling a “culture” through their PR isn’t working. Everyone can see the body language of the guys on the floor: shrugging their shoulders after turnovers, not getting back on defense after misses, multiple guys calling for the ball but passes.

That’s the main issue with the raptors, we didn’t fix our main issues with lack of Shooters not to mention the biggest issue # Picking a direction. I’ve watched the raptors since 2005 saw the years where we were a very good team but disappear come playoff team and rebuild . This season or the last 3 years the raptors have tried to build off that overachieving year where we made the playoffs vs the sixers in 2021 and lost. The gm didn’t fix the raptors biggest needs and instead ran it back the year before and guess what we lost fred( even though we could’ve unloaded him to the clips for something) and traded a top 6 protected pick for potel who although fixes our centre position we can’t play him Barnes and pascal together always because all 3 are liability shooters that can’t space the floor( Barnes been decent this season and shooting 38% from 3 and has made 35s out of 92 attempts). The raptors rn we are in no mans land just like the 2010 -11 to 2012-13 bucks where they had Jennings Ellis and we’re barely in or out of the playoffs. For us we are barely out of the play in but is this roster a playoff caliber team? No this team needs to rebuild, we aren’t going to get a kwahi lvl saviour and fix our shooting woes or lack of bench. I love Chris and porter and it’s insulting to see precious and mcdaniels play more minutes than both of them .

Yeah, we are a career.480 club and rn we are .444. Fans have got used to .600 ball and now they expect it. B-ball is fun to watch. I like 905 too. The last two games have been frustrating but the meltdown here is out of control. I was upset that we got embarrassed by the magic and celts and played poorly v blazers but losing is part of the game. Theres too many whiny, know it all brats that expect perfection. They must come from privileged bc they act entitled. Sorry for generalizations and judgement but it’s annoying at this point. Scottie is shooting nearly 40% and looks like a stud. This is a much bigger focus for me than beating the nets. Theres plenty of positive storylines to cheer for here. The hyperbole that we are worse than the pistons is ridiculous.

I’ve been a fan from day one and I disagree. Watching a team display a half assed effort every other night isn’t fun at all, and it’s actually insulting to people that set aside a chunk of their evening to watch and show support.
Being happy with mediocrity is indicative of a loser mentality. The Raptors don’t have to be a championship contender every year, but at the very least fans want to see a competitive product on the floor. This is nowhere near that.
