it’s a sad state of the franchise that beating the Chiefs to go 3-5 is such a big deal (and I’m not poo-pooing the victory, it’s easily our biggest win since the Super Bowl)
I don’t think we’re a very good team still and it took a ridiculously good defensive performance and a Mahomes illness for us to win. Russ had 3 TDs but we only scored TDs on possessions that started in KC territory. He was pretty bad between the 20s
oh well. Fuck the chiefs. Hopefully this win means we are out of rock bottom and starting to climb out of it as a franchise
We dominated them. They were never in control of the game. And got dookied on in the trenches.
Anyone have a link to the locker room celebration? Would love to see what Sean has to say to the team about that win. Also, who’s getting game balls? Simmons? Pookie?
Nice win.
We can win some more games with this team.
However… the offensive line is the worst I’ve ever seen at pass protection. It seems like there was a free rusher every time on obvious passing plays.
I believe that can only be fixed in the draft.
Not having a pass catching tight end is really holding back this offense. Especially since we have average receivers.
Can’t get over how well Ja’Quan McMillian has been playing since he entered the line up and yesterday felt like his arrival to the spotlight. Just an elite, dominating performance. It takes an entire defensive effort to hold the Chiefs to 0 TDs but McMillian was the best player on the defense yesterday.
It’s technically McMillian’s 2nd season, but he reminds me a lot of rookie CHJ. Undersized slot CB who plays physical and way bigger than his size, high football IQ, extremely confident, and just a really scrappy player who epitomizes got that dawg in him.
I’m prepared to be hurt and expecting the team to come out flat against the Bills but if we manage to beat the Bills or honestly even just play a really competitive game I’m taking the hype train to the moon. I feel like this is the 4th strong showing in a row by the defense. VJ has them playing well right now, there’s so many guys I can talk about but it feels like it’s really coming together on that side of the ball.
Great win for the team and culture rebuild. This will do great things for the guys’ confidence.
