I understand that teams in these contracts are paying for future production, not past production. If I’m going to give you like $100M, I’d like to have some past production. Patrick Williams has done some stuff, but like that’s just… if that’s the number, if that ends up being true and the Vassell deal ends up being the comp that his agents go to, that’s a lot of cheese.

I loved Pat-Will coming out of the draft but dude just doesn’t seem to have any semblance of “Dog” in him.
I think he’s going to peak as an 18-20ppg 3&D guy, and that’s worth $25m/year imo.

It always cracks me up when people think someone hasn’t earned it simply due to them not being a primary ball handler or offense initiator. As if that’s the only skillset that is rare to find.

Who do you think Pat Will is? He’s not DPOY candidate or the best defender on his team. He’s a good defender but not elite.
agree to disagree. i’d take pat williams over vassell 10/10 times. you can always find a 6’5" wing that can dribble and shoot a little. what’s actually rare is having a forward sized beast who can guard every player on the court and doesn’t make mistakes (while being money from 3 on offense).
I mean you say Vassell can shoot a little but he takes more than double the attempts of Pat Williams from 3 and shoots 39%. He’s also got a 6’10 wingspan and can play-make, and defend multiple positions. It’s not a common skillset
