I admittedly wanted Carr gone. I don’t hate the guy, in fact always wanted him to succeed with us. However, I just think we gave him way too many chances and could see he just doesn’t have what it takes. Kinda felt like he wanted to be a Raider partly because he knew we gave him every benefit of the doubt for so long.

Even though I kinda wanted whatever team got him to get the “Derek Carr Experience”, I wanted him to do decently.

New Orleans fans HATE him. Like not how Raiders we’re frustrated of seeing the same inconsistency for 10 years, but more of a Josh McDaniels type of fan hate. Go on X and just search “Derek Carr” trending posts. Go on r/Saints and just scroll. I mean it’s BAD.

Even though I thought it was time to move on, I feel really bad for him. He is back up material. Jimmy G doesn’t even get this kind of hate from us.

To top it off he got SMASHED today by Bruce Irvin. I pray he’s okay.

That being said, please don’t come back to Raiders next year LOL

I agree with you, he was given too many chances. All those years we could’ve drafted a qb. Now we’re stuck with Jimmy G and AOC. I’m not saying AOC’s bad, but we can’t win games by throwing more INTs than TDs. And personally, I always thought Jimmy was decently bad, but leading the league in INTs, and again, more picks than TDs

When he admitted that he never gave his 100% as a Raider I lost a little bit of respect I had for him.

Granted, I want him to play to the best of his ability wherever he is, but I don’t feel sorry for him.

    Not even in the slightest.

He kept them in the game. Was on 15 straight completions. They prob win if he doesn’t get hurt. That’s twice he’s gone down and Winston’s blown the end.

I wish the Saints were doing better with him, yes…but I dont see where you look at today’s game and put it on Carr. The Lions scored 3 times early, but Carr got them back within 3 points before he got knocked out. Playing strong from behind while the defense keeps failing to do their part is pretty much the same thing that happened to him with the Raiders, so it doesnt really change the narrative about him at all.

Today’s Saints game was like his entire Raiders’ career in a microcosm. His first pass-- perfectly thrown, hits an open receiver in stride, right in his hands, and the receiver muffs it, flips it into the air, and it lands right in a defender’s hands.

His offensive line was non-existent, and he was rushed/hit/sacked on pretty much every drop-back. Even still, he stood in there and was bringing the team back, until he was hit hard just after he threw a dime, and knocked out of the game.

The Saints’ defense couldn’t stop anything all day.

Carr played an excellent game. His teammates were ass.

It was his entire Raiders career in one game.

Carr is an annoying QB to watch because he seems like he should be a lot better because of his arm and 40 time, but he plays like a dumbass at times. He also throws the ball away to avoid having a much worse INT # than he would have had he actually taken more chances (which based on his poor ability to read the field would have likely led to more turnovers in his career…), which actually makes things annoying in 2 ways. 1. He tricks people into thinking his #s are better than they should be. 2. He is risk averse which annoys people who see guys wide open or when he’s throwing the ball away on, checks notes, 4th down.

I think that All-Pro offensive line earlier in his career gave the fans false hope. I used to believe the injury made him gun shy, but even his draft profile said he has anxiety issues and can’t handle pressure well, so it’s hard to say if that injury is the reason he fell apart or not having All-Pros giving him an atypical amount of time to throw the ball. Gruden masked a lot of his flaws with his WCO allowing for short passes with YAC. Probably how he made Brad Johnson look good for a year. I don’t think Carr was ever great and having those expectations is why this fanbase had Carr wars going on. He’s Andy Dalton with a better arm.

Saints fans have no goodwill towards him because he wasn’t drafted by them. They had one of the best QBs in NFL history playing for them just a few short years ago, while this franchise hasn’t had a good QB play since Gannon. Also, considering they were 7-9/10 with the likes of Dalton, Winston, and Hill I’m sure they’re really upset they’re stuck with Carr with an enormous salary to produce the same thing.

He deserves all the backlash he gets. I’m glad he’s failing in New Orleans. Can’t blame the Raiders for his shitty play anymore. All those Carr stans saying he’s gonna make it to the playoffs and we’re gonna win 3 games max and we’re gonna regret letting him go 💀😂

Pete Carmichael has been the OC for this long an haven’t gotten a sniff at HC for a reason…he’s a Todd Downing level coach.
