Use some common sense:

  1. 2 firsts, 2 seconds, pick swap is fantastic return
  2. Morey will trade these as assets, we aren’t waiting for a 2028 freshman. He’ll go after Lavine or somebody like that.
  3. Multiple expiring tradable contracts is great in what we got in return. This is less about the players and more about their contracts.
  4. You can’t complain about how bad Harden is then expect a fucking haul of a superstar. Harden will only be worse as he gets older (not to mention his terrible dribble for 16 seconds iso offense).

Just enjoy Maxey’s growth and be patient for Morey’s next move(s) at the deadline!

I think it’s actually worth it to move these picks into better FR picks sooner. Trying to engage aging veteran guards that command max contracts in the short term is not going to position us well at all for the next decade; having some youth is essential to keeping a franchise in contention.

Deal is fine. Actually makes the Sixers more versatile and playable for this season.

Morris, Cov and Batum with Tobias and Bball can play 2 way on the 3/4 and none of them are liabilities.

Allows Maxey to have the keys and I fully expect him to be an all star.

I actually think we match up better with the Celtics after this deal so we’ll see.

Also opens up the option for us to go for it this year at the trade deadline with expiring contracts & picks. Morey loves flexibility. He isn’t punting this year. He will see how the team develops over the year and see if they have a legit shot and make a decision at the deadline.

It’s not great, it’s fine. It’s right around what was reported and what we were expecting. Not everything has to be a fleece.

    Quick thoughts:

    1. RoCo how I’ve missed you. Him coming back kind feels like this whole thing is coming full circle.
    2. Getting 2 firsts and 2 seconds on top of the role players for a guy on an expiring contract is mind boggling
    3. We will have flexibility moving forward but this team as constructed will still be competitive. We have a deadly two man game with the MVP and the Franchise
    4. Loved Pj tucker hustle but we got better 3pt shooters who are 5 years younger. I am a little worried about rebounding.
    5. The Batum and Embiid French connection should fun
    6. Getting rid of Harden was important not only for the chemistry BUT for the scheme. This team will be way faster with Maxey running point.

I’m an OKC/Harden/Russ guy and loved watching the Sixers last season despite the swings, definitely loved Embiid getting MVP. Still big on Harden. This is a great solution for everybody really. Just gotta see what OKC is getting for that high value frp

Embiid/Maxey/Harden wasn’t gonna cut it in the new East. Letting Embiid and Maxey cook is the move for now and flipping for a third star, if they can stay healthy, they have a chance

That 2028 Clippers unprotected 1st is juicy as hell. That is the true prize of this haul to be honest. Not sure what this other 1st rounder is but I’m sure it’s got protections, will be interesting to find out exactly what it is.

I remember NBA people talking about the Lakers 2029 or whatever unprotected 1st as if it was a highly valuable pick. Well, I think an unprotected 1st from the Clippers is better than that. Their core is already old, and they will be all gone by 2028 most likely. And the Clippers have little to no assets to improve their team in the future as of now. That could legitimately be a top 5 pick as that team has pretty much always been a dumpster fire. They’re not the Lakers or Heat who don’t even need picks because they just sign people
