Like all of you, I’m outright disgusted with how far this organization has fallen. Within a decade we went from a 15-1 Super Bowl quality team that had heart and was fun to… whatever the hell we are right now.
But the one thing that hasn’t changed is we have fans who are passionate and whose heart is in this team if they do right by us.
So I ask, before it’s too late and we’ve all sunk into a state of hatred or, worse yet, apathy for the team we love - can we actually organize to do something? Petition, a billboard that tells Tepper to fuck off back up north, OpEd in the Observer, etc?
I know we lack the power to do much, but maybe we can at least make enough noise to make Tepper uncomfortable and feel accountable? I just hate losing the franchise I grew up with without a fight :(
No.
I don’t think there is. I’m having to detach myself slowly for now. I love this team so much, but it’s bad for my mental health to continue watching this every Sunday and get invested in something that is absolutely terrible.
I watched every game following Cam being drafted, I was in 8th grade when he got to Carolina. The 2015 Panthers was a very important season for me. It was following my senior year of high school and I really didn’t have a path in my life that I felt led to any importance so I really attached myself to that team. It was the only team I had been a fan of to sniff any championship success since I had been a fan (Hurricanes were bad at the time, Tar Heels were in a couple down years following 2012).
Since then, I’ve been really wanting this team to return to that. But the front office seems so incompetent for that to be possible and I think Bryce can be a part that, I truly do. But until then, I will reminisce of the energy Cam, Thomas Davis, Luke Kuechly, Mike Tolbert, Jonathan Stewart, Josh Norman, and Ted freaking Ginn brought to this team over the years they played.
P.S. I felt some of that energy return the last half of the season last year. Was that directly Wilks? Doubt it. Just felt like Panther football again.
Its called winning, bro.
Roaring riot should actually riot.
PSL owner here, honestly positivity goes a long way. I don’t know what else more we can talk about this season if you look at this as simplistic as possible. We need better players, so we have what we have, next year is probably going to be rough but not as bad than the year after that we will see.
Interesting perspective as a PSL owner! How has that experience been - do you get much engagement beyond going to the games (special events, meet the players, etc.)?
I feel like the best time to buy a PSL is probably times like these where there’s a dip in popularity. Any thoughts on buying and if you’d recommend? Have always debated.
100% best time to buy is when a team is at a all time low. The real fans there and people I sit beside on a weekly basis are the same. Only thing that’s worse right now are the away fans and the heckling. I had a colts fan sitting behind me last weekend yelling for Bryce to get hurt and end up in the tent. I Finally turned around and had to remind him that he’s a kid and no matter the team we don’t wish injury on players.
Given the voicemails and texts I’ve received today, I’m guessing they’re hard up for ticket sales.
