Disney+ in the Philippines considers screen mirroring as screen recording?
I am actually able to pull this stuff off by using a USB-C docking station with an hdmi port, but not a direct connection to the screen.
Not sure if that’s well known, but my fiancé and I have our parents Netflix account which works flawlessly thru my phone using this method.
I just tested it with the other steaming services I have.
Netflix, HBO, Prime Video, Apple TV+ all casted the shows no problem. It played the video only on the monitor, leaving playback control on the phone screen.
I’m using the Philippines version of these apps, some will be the same as the global build, some like HBO is a local variant operated by a third party, so your mileage may vary.
This also happens when you try to play Disney Plus on a projector because they think you’re creating a movie theater and over sharing. It’s so stupid, I just want Disney movies under the stars… WHY DONT YOU UNDERSTAND US DISNEYYYYYYY
How the fuck does the browser know the computer is hooked up to a projector?
Smart tv’s have twitch and I’m quite happy about that
Are you using USB-C to HDMI or AirPlay? I know a lot of services don’t allow this for some stupid reason, but idk if the new USB-C to HDMI behaves the same way as AirPlay always has.
Probably. Have you tried with other devices? Screen mirroring is at its base definition, grabs your phone’s screen data and relaying it to the TV ergo, screen recording for TV to use it.
Lmao if someone wants to record from a streaming service it’s probably super easy to bypass this. This is just made to annoy you
