It’s almost as if the Zebras just wanna ruin the fun. Imagine if this was the first time a kid was able to see Giannis in person? All that time, money, and effort to see your favorite player just for them to get the boot.

To eject Giannis over that, but a few days ago Draymond Green is allowed to run and yell at refs for 45 seconds and gets no tech for it is just a gross display of abusive power.

NBA, Silver, stop fucking talking to us about player accountability and how they need to show up if you’re gonna kick them out for doing the shit we want to see.

I guess he wasn’t lying about wanting to turn the NBA into NFL.

There needs to be league punishment on the ref for this. If teams get fined for sitting healthy superstars, refs should be fined for soft ejections of superstars. Imagine you paid to see that game and giannis is ejected for being excited after a dunk. Ridiculous

If a player blatantly taunts an opponent, a technical foul shall be assessed.

So, the bigger point here is that the NBA just needs to adjust their rules as to what a technical foul is. Because, per the NBA’s rules, that was pretty clearly a tech on Giannis. It would have been a tech and no one (because they were playing the Pistons) would fucking know if it was just his first one.

It goes back the my thing about the bullshit for DECADES about “letting players play” in the fourth quarter or especially in the playoffs.

Just want consistency. If it’s a foul in the fifth game of the season, it should be a foul in Game 5 of the Finals. If the foul call wasn’t needed in the fifth game of the season, just don’t call it.

Or adjust penalties for additional tech fouls. First tech? Two shots for one point. Second tech? Three shots for two points. Etc., etc.

When you realize they had money on the game or were told to cover (which the pistons did, curiously) it all makes sense.

It needs to be easier for them to get fired before we get our own Angel Hernandez (see r/mlb)

Lol I like Giannis but the state down is auto tech constantly it’s nothing like the Tim Duncan one. Giannis should know better or league needs to change rules . The Jax Hayes tech on using a natural swinging motion that cost the team going into ot was worse , I seen a few worse this year

So, serious talk, what‘a the reprimand for a shitty ref? Something like “Hey, you don’t ref game for the team/player you fucked up.”?

I don’t remember any ref ever getting canned. At least, not a high-profile one.

        “Blatantly tau ya an opponent”

This is what you think this is? By that logic Steph should be thrown out every single game, fam.

So, now Giannis can’t do “mean mugg” anymore without risking ejection? Way to take the fun and passion out of the game.

I continue to be flabbergasted by the culture of NBA / refereeing / ejections in comparison to the NFL. I get that fans are closer so there’s more desire to keep player conduct in check, but the number of ejections in NBA games for non-basketball actions vs. NFL (where it almost NEVER happens except for throwing a punch) is absolutely nuts.

He didn’t get ejected he got a technical which happened to be his second. This implies he was straight up ejected solely for that
