i’m not here to be doom and gloom and demand trades after a loss, but more so optimistic that this team can be really really really good with just a decent back up big man and a PJ Washington like wing. I actually think we have the assets to pull it off and have faith in Nico. anyways, main text?

We trade THJ all day, and here’s why.

I posted this as a response, but I think it serves a top level comment along with some qualifications. Hardy can give us everything THJ gives us and more right now. No way you say?

    Per 36 stats

    Player Pts 3P% REB AST
    THJ 22.5 .405 4.2 1.7
    Hardy 21.8 .350 4.3 3.8

But those are projected from low minutes…

In the 13 games he played 20+ minutes last year he averaged 19.5 PPG shooting 40% from 3 on 6 3PA per game, so the projections based on minutes b=pan out (though some of those higher minute games were a tanking scenario). The and more I referred to is playmaking. Hardy isn’t a great playmaker, but THJ is a black hole who’s near guaranteed to shoot it every touch.

So given the above…we also need to consider consider THJ has a much larger contract which should net a more developed player. Realistically, no team is going to trade us a player on his rookie salary far outplaying their contract. So a Hardy trade is likely a loosing trade from the start as the packages offered will center around a low dollar scrub and 2nd round picks.
