I was thinking about our new identity. I remember in the PG days I loved watching our defense and rebounding crush the other teams. I’ve always known the pacers as defense first type of team (thanks Dan Burke) but ngl our new playstyle is so much more entertaining. We can drop 120 on anybody. Even though bad defense can get really really frustrating

What about y’all pacers bros

I like both. The key is to have personnel that fit the style you want, that way the system is executed at a high level. In the past when we’ve been a defensive team the “fix” on offense was to get a guy who can create for himself. The failure of Ellis, LaVert, etc was not fitting the system so even when they did something good on the other end it was never enough to balance out.

Now, our defense is lacking, but even the guys who are offensive minded are still giving effort and improving on defense.

I’ll take this style of play every single time. This team is going to bring fans back into the stadium

I liked the offense first Colts teams under Manning, and I’m here for the offense first, Tyrese-led Pacers years.

I’ve been clamoring for a transition based offense for over six years.

So the fact that we can do it? Makes me really happy. If we can shore up some of the defensive issues it’s going to be really nice.
