Personally, if we make the right decisions we could get better in 1-2 years.
Define “struggles”? Per Steeler Nation standards, struggling means not being dominat and not making deep runs into the playoffs.
If that is the case, then the Steelers will struggle for a long time, until we get a new coaching staff, becasue our coaches right now are mediocre and have only produced mediocre teams once all the Cowher draft picks were gone.
The numbers and evidence is quite clear on this.
Mainly just Pickett not seeing the field as well as he should and completing passes, our Oline sometimes not giving him enough time, our OC. Imo, if we play our cards right we’ll improve in 1-2 years. Maybe 3.
We are 6-3
I am thinking we are a work in progress right now. When we get Fitzpatrick back, it will shore up the defense. His skills, football IQ and communication have been sorely missed.
Now that we have the running game going, it SHOULD open up more and better opportunities for the passing game, as opposing defenses will have to account for it.
It’s up to Kenny to make the reads and the throws, the OL to squeeze out another second or two of protection, and the receiving corps to get open better and not drop balls when they get targeted.
I guess I am just not the Debbie Downer like half this sub is.
As far as “turning it around”? I went for the shortest.
Same here man. Fitzpatrick is definitely missed on our defense, as well as Pat P on offense. I feel like we’re starting to have the running game figured out. With the passing game, Pickett just needs to look across the field more. Which also ties into the Oline giving him more time in different situations. I do feel like if we take a genuine deep dive into the state of our team, our problems could easily be resolved in 1-2 years if we make the right decisions.
This is based on last years draft being really good and hope no major injuries
Till we get a better OC.
