The losing streak has been brutal. But so has this early schedule. Numerous back to backs. Playing tough teams. A depleted roster. But looking at the standings and it doesn’t really look as bad as it felt.

  • Clippers and Wemby’s Spurs have only 1 win more than us.
  • Suns and Cavs (who are on a similar timeline as us) have only 2 wins more.
  • We are still only 4 games back from the 6th seed. 71 games left.

Just saying. I don’t know how the season will shake out but it’s early.

This frustrates me too, but the Pistons’ rebuild is not really cut from the same cloth even though it may look like it on the surface.

Houston started with a harden, and Westbrook trade. Also cashed in on money and fvv hasn’t been worth 40 million so far.

Orlando was given 2 very high firsts thanks to bulls and wcj.

Houston is also paying FVV $44M a year lol

They actually went out for free agent vets this offseason, we have cap space for the foreseeable future. Dont think our teams are as comparable with us not spending this past off season.

The difference between us and the rest of the teams you mentioned is that they actually have talent.

And the Cavs are not on our timeline. They are so far ahead.

You’re trying to say the Pistons don’t have talent? Are we talking about the same Pistons who have been hoarding half the All Rookie Team selections in the league for going on 4 years now? No talent?

Similar timelines. A year or two ahead.

In a year or two, we should have a solidified roster of young talent, be in the playoffs, with the capital to go out and get an all-star.

Cade lost an entire year of development. We did not have a James Harden to trade for assets. We did not have a Nikola Vucevic to trade for Franz Wagner. We are missing 2 shooters and a decent defensive player. Our center of the future has been injured as well. These things are not excuses, these are facts. Being the team with the least amount of wins sucks, being on a 8 game losing streak sucks, looking at other rebuilding teams doing bettwr than us sucks, but we still have a lot of games to go. We will not be a play off team this year, but we have something to build on.
