What?!! Do you have a link to the vrr post?
Does HDR work on it?
Found a bug unfortunately. On reboot of the Deck, the secret keys are wiped, so you have to go into terminal each boot and re-enter. If anyone can work out that part, then we’re good.
Bought my SD last September. Immediately wiped it and stuck Windows 11 on it. Had been fighting with setting up controls, getting a decent game launcher (Playnite) and using loads of community bulid tools to make it run nice (like getting tdp controls to work, getting the steamdeck buttons to register, battery icons, custom key shortcuts to bring up quick action etc.) Then one day I thought I’d try steamos. It was bliss, after a bit of usage I deleted my Windows install. In fact I’ve switched OS again now to a more hybrid solution. I’m using Bazzite, which is based off Fedora 39, but has all the functionality of SteamOS game-mode baked in. Using it purely for games, you’d probably never even notice a difference. But switch to desktop mode and you’ve got a greatly enhanced environment where its so much easier to install rpm packages, run Android emulation and so much more.
Or get a Lenovo Legion Go and stick Bazzite on it. That’s the dilemma I’m facing
Used to have my SteamDeck full of games. Got to a point where I was overwhelmed by what to play. Decided to wipe and start again. Now I only have maximum of 4 games installed at a time. One big story game (currently Control, will be Alan Wake II after) one arcade like game (currently Hades) and one spare (currently Forza 5). This gives me the focus to actually progress the game to finish.
Doing this I managed to finish: God of War, Guardians of the Galaxy, Quatum Break, Alan Wake, Max Payne 1&2, Batman Arkham Asylum and Divinity Original Sin. Been a blast and really helped me enjoy my Deck again instead of spending hours curating and tweaking each game to play how I want and moving onto the next (felt like a job!)
Doom Eternal looks amazing in HDR and pretty much runs at 90fps on ultra settings
