  • He has a 13-17 game in there skewing the stats.

    He had 3 straight games of 27 pts, 7-19, L 15 points, 4-12, L 22 points, 5-14, L

He wasn’t playing terrible but that’s not efficient my guy.

I promise you I’m a bigger Trae fan than you are, and that’s why I expect more. I’m not happy with a 6 game stretch where half the games he didn’t score well and we fucking lost. Last game he started out 6-8 and ended up 12-31… so until he puts together a string of games shooting over 40% that result in some wins, he’s not back.

If Trae is just a top 25 player then okay that’s cool. I believe he’s top 15 and can be top 10 if he gets his shit together. Do you see what Steph, Luka, SGA, Fox, Hali, are on??

Yeah that’s the kind of production and consistency we need from Trae. We already saw Trae play like that for a whole season in 21-22.

So until he’s playing on that level he’s not back. Don’t hate on me for expecting more out of our franchise guy and my favorite player.

  • If Trae got 55+ wins while putting up 30 and 10 on 50/40/90 he would win MVP lol. Nobody is gonna go that hard with the narratives if the results so clearly say otherwise. Everybody who has won MVPs has against them. The problem with Trae is the hawks stay at .500 and that’s not enough to get peoples attention.

Also since 21-22 he hasn’t been anywhere close to 50/40/90 so him doing that would be huge considering the narrative that he’s Westbrook 2.0 with efficiency.

If Trae is that guy from the 21-22 season he has as good of a shot as anybody. Hawks just gotta win

  • Other than the bogi part I don’t see why you wouldn’t want MPJ. He gets 17 and 8 in his sleep in Denver not even being prioritized as a scorer. Playing with Trae he’d average 20 a game easy while giving us better rebounding, and more hustle as well

I love watching Denver so I can tell you right now MPJ is all star caliber

  • I’m just tryna understand what exactly about watching Trae makes you think he shoots like he’s Steph…

Taking deep 3s? He takes and makes more, and is much more efficient than Steph. Best 30 ft shooter of all time and shooting 45% on them this season.

Other than taking deep 3s which Steph doesn’t even do as much as Trae, I don’t understand what about their games is the same

Tbh I don’t even see his assists going down, but the problem is nobody knows if this is just a really bad cold slump and he’s the same guy he was from 2020-2022 or not. Cause if he is he’ll turn it around soon and do what you said. It’s normal for guys to have down years but they usually come out great the next year. Trae has been struggling for a season and 12 games that’s not really normal for a star. You can’t blame people for being concerned about his scoring the guy is shooting 35% from the field and 27% from 3.

I’m the biggest Trae fan in this sub but the truth is if he was playing up to his standards, we wouldn’t be 6-6 we’d be 8-4 at the very least, possibly 10-2 with the way he was able to take over games. We’ve seen what he’s capable of and it’s hard to watch right now. But I think he’ll turn it around

  • Listen, DJ is not playing like a fringe all star this season, if things keep going this way the coaches will vote him in as our all star He’s improved his defense, shot selection and in 3 of the games he’s lost he at least gave us a chance with how clutch he was and was obviously clutch in our wins too.

And then, Trae has been passable on defense this year outside a couple games. He’s made major improvements on that end and is a lot more consistent. Trae isn’t the problem with our defense.

If Trae wasn’t shooting this bad and missing open floaters I genuinely believe we’d be 7-2 right now.

We have depth and two clutch star players. That gives us a shot against anybody except maybe Boston. So we will have to make some moves to beat them but that’ll come after this season.

This season the goal is to secure home court in the playoffs and make it to the second round, then we can talk about what we need to do win a championship.

Trae took us farther than we’ve ever been, and I believe this team is just as, if not more special than that team was. Keep your patience, I think by mid season we’ll be in great shape
