  • I keep trying to find reasons to dislike Jayden Daniels, and the more I watch (just watched condensed games against FSU and Ole Miss), the more I think he might be the best or 2nd best QB in the draft. He’s decisive, doesn’t hold onto the ball that long, good but not great arm, great legs, goes through his progressions well. The only thing that could be a negative is how he got along with his ASU teammates. They didn’t seem to like him and posted a video of them cleaning out his locker when they heard he was leaving. Off of pure talent alone, I like him more than Caleb Williams tbh. It’s Maye/Daniels tied at #1 for me.

  • This post is over-simplified and filled with misconceptions. You absolutely can evaluate how a QB is reading the field as well as the degree of difficulty in what they are being asked to do. Teams also have interviews and personal workouts that will tell them plenty about the skill of the prospect. At the end of the day, there are 10 other players on offense as well as 100’s of coaches and staff. All of that matters in how the offense performs. Personality, communication skills, ability to get along with other players, and work ethic matter just as much as being able to read the field.

If you think Zach Wilson and Justin Fields are at the same level in reading defenses, then I don’t know what to tell you… maybe watch more football? I would be embarrassed to make a statement that stupid.

  • A part of me feels bad for Hackett. He needs a QB who understands the system and how to read coverages using their pre-snap looks. He also needs an offensive line / tight ends that aren’t horrendous at blocking. When you watch the tape of the offense, you can see why Saleh keeps saying that they’re “close”. There’s always 1 player making a major fuckup on the plays that don’t work which otherwise would go for decent yardage. If we had Broderick Jones instead of Max Mitchell and if AVT had stayed healthy, also if we had benched Uzomah earlier, this offense could be middle of the pack. It’s really simply been Newman, Mitchell, and Uzomah who have doomed the offense.

Fant is a good player when healthy. For some reason we relied on him last year after he had major offseason surgery and couldn’t get a single practice in prior to the first game. He was going up against players who had strength and conditioning training for months leading up to game 1 while he had none.
