Be glad he got to play for a winner. Lots of players just as good or better waste away on trash teams and never get a taste.
You could make a perfect game with no ads, cut the price in half, and people would still pirate.
Not in this game.
Except the Raptors were already eliminated.
She’s a fan, not a player, and that’s just a kid having fun / fan shit. Fans from other franchises have been far, far shittier to players on the court.
Define poverty franchise? Over what period on top of that
Where are we getting all these extra picks?
Where are we getting all these extra picks?
Imagine defending Getsy’s playcalling.
Did Fields call 3 straight screens? Did Fields stop his route early against the Broncos? Did Fields drop the pass against the Bucs (hint: the guy who did isn’t on the team anymore).
The Quay pick-six was bad. No defending it. But the rest were picks every other QB in the league would have thrown.
Watching this game, both QBs had terrible plays that would get Fields eviscerated. He’s not them, but they’re just as human as he is.
Often that’s either the guy on your roster or the guy NOT going #1.
Trade out of the #1 slot and take a guy in the mid-late 1st or 2nd.
He excelled as a passer in his last 3 full starts. But people didn’t like that he rushed for 100+ yards today as well. I really don’t care where the yards come from, tbh.
He’s absolutely a QB1 in this league. Do you want me to list the guys starting games yesterday? He may not be a top 10 guaranteed every week, but I’m not convinced Williams/Maye will be either. This sub would have had us drafting Bryce last year.
And we’re only having this discussion because Flus blew the game on defense.
I assume because they’re being offered mediocre FRPs by a lot of decent teams, so why not ask for 2? He’s an all-NBA level defender on a good contract that has shown he part of a champion.
Baltimore is a really good team that is fun to see on my TV. The Bengals are that good team that you’re assuming will put it all together so it’s kinda fun and kinda not quite there.
The Steelers are confusing.
The Browns are a really good defense with no QB, which Reddit fucking hates (Source: a Bears fan).
It’s not my favorite division to watch, but it’s competitive.
We have Ben Simmons at home
Gonna take this opportunity to defend the trade, at least a little bit, for people who like to dunk on it.
When we made the trade in 2021 we were rudderless. Zach, our only asset, was showing a lot of promise and a threat to leave in FA, so we traded two firsts and a rotation player that wasn’t going to move the needle to keep him and potentially add to it. Keep in mind we had a new coach/GM, rookie PAW, 2nd year Coby. We were a little under 500. With Vuc the pick was tracking to be in the ~15 range. Then COVID hit our team and we floundered, landing at 8. Tough break, but that’s fine. It’s rare to find value at 8 - we would know.
That trade got us Demar and Lonzo, we brought in Caruso, and we were playing WELL. Not a title contender, but a team that could easily make the ECF. Then Lonzo gets hurt, Pat doesn’t develop, Donovan sucks, and the rest is history. Magic got the 11 pick in 2023 to complete the trade.
So two picks that, if we’d stay healthy, would’ve been 15 and ~20+, became 8 and 11, which rarely become special anyway. Magic got a guy that looks like a future all star. Happy for them!
We still got Vuc though, and he’s a top 10 center, but obviously we were hoping for a little more.
C’est la vie, you shoot your shot.
Opponent PPG for Fields:
2023: 31.4
2022: 25.2
2021: 25.1 (technically he was the backup)
In the last full NFL season, 25.1 would be good for 28th worst defense, 31.4 would be 4 points worse than the worst defense.
Opponent PPG for backups:
2023: 19.75
2022: 31 (one game, L)
2021: 22.2 (Dalton technically the starter)
In the last full NFL season, 22.2 would be good for the 18th worst defense. 19.75 would be 7th.
Worst contract in the league? Only saying it because I can’t imagine any team being thrilled with having to put up with this nonsense every game. Must be exhausting for Kerr.
